Faith No More is more Funk/Alternative/Experimental metal anyways, one genre doesn't really fit all of their music.

For the post-Faith No More works of Mike Patton, check Mr. Bungle and Fantômas. Interesting stuff.

Remember giving Mr. Bungle a chance a while back, didn't click with me. You can't leave out his EP with The Dillinger Escape Plan: Irony Is a Dead Scene either, quality Patton vocals right there, shame it's fairly short.

Also for people discussing Zeal & Ardor I did like the songs I heard off of Devil Is Fine and haven't listened to much of their more recent album Stranger Fruit. They are not an all-time favorite of mine but they are certainly one of the most unique projects I've seen.

128 tracks of unholy gore! It is not often that I play Last Days Of Humanity's double-cd compilation Rest In Gore, but it's a wild trip every time I do.

I need to get that one for the ultimate grind quadruple-cd compilation. Already got Nasum's The Grind Finale, 152 tracks across two CDs.

John Hinch, the drummer on Judas Priest's debut album Rocka Rolla, passed away a few days ago at the age of 73.

That's a bummer...but his death apparently made YouTube think I wanted to see an early live performance from Priest. And their look is...well, see for yourself. Rob looks like he's cosplaying Buffalo Bill.

That's the seventies for you.

The new Evile album was great but the lack of Matt on vocals hurts bad.

Drumming is some of the best in thrash however. Riffing is great too but I'm spoiled by Enter the Grave's near perfect riffs.

The poll said to leave a comment, so here I go again. When it comes to albums released in 2020, Anaal Nathrakh did what Anaal Nathrakh does best and released Endarkenment, another album full of savage organized chaos inspired by the constant clusterfuck that has been the last few years. Recently I also bought Sect Of Vile Divinities by US death metal veterans Incantation, another 2020 title that I can recommend to those who like it dark, atmospheric and hard.

I did hear good things about both of those albums. Onward to Golgotha is my only previous exposure to Incantation... do they still have a similar sound?

Did anyone have thoughts on the new Gojira album? I really like a couple songs (New Found, Sphynx) and overall it's decent, but I think I'm giving up on them ever releasing something as powerful as From Mars to Sirius again.

Incantation's first two albums used to be the only titles in my collection as well, but I'm glad I bought Sect Of Vile Divinities. You can hear that the band has gotten more skilled over the years, but they still have that dark and foreboding Incantation sound. Perhaps a bit more atmospheric, but that is never a bad thing in my book.

In news related to cartoons about metal, Metalocalypse is getting a movie. Finally gonna get a proper freaking finale. Took the fuckers long enough to finally relent.

Oh shiiiiiit.

I still need to watch Season 3-4. I only caught the first two season on Netflix before they lost the rights.

Looks like it's on HBO Max now, which I should have access to via a friend...

Not at all. Sounds a bit like the Gorguts evolution.

Other bands: Make you wait 3-5 years for new albums
Zeal & Ardor: 1, 2 years at most are long enough waits.

May I ask a question?

I dont really know what to call myself, what genre of rock I like. I like Bad Omens, fame on fire, BMTH, Crown the Empire, red, Our last night, hands like houses, architects among others. What does this make me? I dont feel like just calling myself a metal head really fits.
