Metal AotY of 2020 is Cirith Ungol's Forever Black. Their first new album in 29 years and they sound just like back in their prime in the 80s.

It will likely change once I get through more stuff, the biggest contender as of now is Eternal Champion's Ravening Iron.

All right, picked an album from this poll at random. Stare Into Death And Be Still is pretty good so far.

Some fairly good almost unknown melo-death (which is also Christian based on the youtube video?).

Who was the other person who voted for Ohms on the poll, was it Nuroblav?

I found Ohms to be Deftones back in peak form almost, that album is immensely enjoyable.

In non-political/non-new album front, I re-visited Hardwired... to Self-Destruct yesterday. My biggest problem with most of the songs is the fact that there are excellent riffs and parts in there but the songs themselves are too long and the good parts disappear into a sea of generic boredom. One of the worst offenders is Halo on Fire, the last two minutes are absolutely amazing, but the first six are so bland it hurts. If it was a four minute song, it would be one of the best on the album but oh well. Am I Savage? is another offender. One extremely recognizable section, but again, the rest makes me go "what's this song again?". 4/12 songs are great, the rest have good stuff hidden in there and one is tolerable with the music video. Overall still better than Death Magnetic, because there are no truly terrible songs :p

I did hear that he is wanted on unrest-related charges, probably nothing serious enough to earn him significant prison time though.

Don't you fools know that Metallica are artists who have single-handedly carried rock and roll for decades and y'all are just fake fans because you don't appreciate Lulu and the intricate compositions of Hardwired... to Self-Destruct? It would be completely immature and unbecoming of Metallica to release an album of 3-4 minute memorable thrash songs with a few longer meaningful power ballads and quality solos.

Is it me or does or do the vocals in the breakdown of Too Late: Frozen - Type O Negative sound like Maynard James Keenan? I know it's just Steele again but the vocal style there sound similar.
