So much for their snobby outlook on that, it was a good run though, all things considered. Don’t usually see anyone resisting technological progress THAT much on such a medium.

Haven't popped by here of late.

Current stuff I'm digging - a bit of a subgenre grab-bag.

Volbeat - Sorry Sack of Bones
Rage of Light - Battlefront
Grima - The Shrouded in Darkness

And now you got me listening to a song of Knocked Loose on Discogs. Hardcore of the more pleasant variety, yes.

What's the matter, Galborea? Did Timmy fall down the well?

That being said, recently I have entertained myself with the latest albums of Possessed and Ministry, as well as Antigama's The Insolent. The latter band is a Polish grindcore ensemble, and one of the better acts in the genre. Think Nasum, but with the occasional outburst of prog. Got myself the Antigama/Drugs of Faith split EP as well, by the way.

As someone who also likes post punk acts such as Killing Joke, I disagree. It is a different kind of record than the preceding ones, but that is not a bad thing.

I submit for consideration:

Next version of the thread be more inclusive 'Metal/Punk/Hard Rock' both since generally we seem to like that stuff, as well as it would increase readership and post volume. Aye/Nay?

Maybe.

On one hand I think those genres are included already since lines are quite hazy at times. On the other it's "metal" thread, not "general heavy rock thread for regulars".

And what comes to increasing readership and post volume, General Music Thread could use that way more than metal thread, that one is very quiet in comparison. GM II was started in 2014, Metal thread 4 was started in 2016.

TL;DR, I'm fine but I'd rather have metal in this thread and hard rock and punk in general music thread.

In the other news I just got back from seeing Kalmah and Ensiferum. Saw them at Tavastia, which is a legendary rock club in Finland as well as one of the oldest still operating rock clubs in Europe, it had been on my bucket list for years.

Kalmah was great but Ensiferum was near perfect.

Can we get a new poll while we're at it?

Also just make it metal + punk and don't get anal about labels. Labels suck.

Yet the title of this thread series is what it currently is. I am in favour of a change, assuming it is done correctly.

Both bands I would love to see. Ensiferum is in my All-Time Top 10 or 15, and Kalmah is a band I've actually been jamming to quite a bit over the last couple weeks. Great workout energizing.

Glad to hear both of their live shows live u p to their music.
