EDM/other electronic genres mixed with metal? Probably. Metal riffs sampled in purely electronic stuff? Not really. Unless it's terrorcore, because terrorcore in general kicks ass.

Death metal in general is my least favorite big sub-genre of metal. I love Unleashed, Asphyx, Bolt Thrower, Death, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide and most stuff under "brutal" sub category. Let's just say it's not exactly my jam.

It's not really metal, more industrial and darkwave but has members of Full of Hell and The Body involved as well as the producer of the latest Daughters album, but please check out the third album Caligula from Kristin Hayter AKA Lingua Ignota. She's a classically-trained singer with an amazing tone and range, and this album covers some of the darkest experiences one can imagine. As far as I can tell from her interviews, she's been through a LOT of terrible things and this is her ultimate catharsis. You can really feel it in her delivery. Easily one of my favorite albums of the year, and I've known about her since her second album in 2017 and her appearance on The Body's album last year, which was one hell of a performance too. You can also hear her on the Full of Hell album from this year.

I haven't bought a copy of Sabaton's new album, but from what I've heard of it it seems pretty good. Too bad bismark isn't on there, but I understand why it isn't!

Recent metal purchases for me:

New Darkthrone- solid. I don't think Darkthrone can put out a bad album. It isn't *amazing* but its good.
New Abbath- i'e only listened to it once or twice in the car, but it seems pretty good.
Scores of War by Orion's Reign- this is a power metal master fucking piece! Its been in my car for like two weeks straight. Fantastic album.

Not really metal, but in the vein of Wardruna:
Futha by Heilung- this album is amazing. Highly recommend if you like wardruna and that style of music.

I also just found a copy of Myrkrav's second full length album from '16. Its on its way. I am excited for this. Myrkgrav is great ( I think its mainly just one dude). I had a copy of his first full length album, but my buddy lost it years ago. >:(
