Because after their debut they either started using old bad riffs or they started making their own which aren't good. That being said, Evile would probably make a really damn good cover album if they wanted.

I'll say
Through the Never
Cemetary Gates
Lounge Act
Drowned
A shame Ol said that the Drowned cover was a one off and that Matt doesn't have good real death metal vocals.

To those shit talking new Priest, Firepower was magnificent, far better than Redeemer and easily a contender for one of their best. While it's not the classic "Priest sound", it's a fine album in it's own right.

What is classic priest there's like 3 different multi album periods that could constitute classic priest.

I mean, it was far more consistent than Redeemer, because it didn't need standouts since almost every song was pretty fuckin good. Notably, Firepower, Lightning Strike, Rising from Ruins, Traitor's Gate and Sea of Red. I'd argue a strong point for one of their best albums. At least the best since Painkiller. And as for the comment on Priest sound, note my quotations. I know there's not a single Priest sound, they've changed a lot of times, and I feel many fans lose sight of that. Just because it doesn't sound like British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance or Painkiller, a lot of people are dismissing it.

Firepower is easily one of their best songs in their entire career.

Overall the album for me falls into the same category as most other post 2000 albums by old ('65-'85) metal/rock bands. Few standout tracks that would make an EP somewhere between "really good" and "damn amazing" but for a full album it's just a little too bloated. Firepower falls closer to the "damn amazing" end of that spectrum :p

My favorite song was probably actually Traitor's Gate. Firepower is easily a close second. I agree that some of the songs didn't quite pull their weight but overall, but it certainly is overall a very good album imo. Except for Lone Wolf because apparently Judas Priest decided they wanted to write an Avenged Sevenfold song.

I regret nothing. Songs like this are pure glorious musical ADHD and I virtually had to strap my arms down during my lunchtime walk to stop myself doing the embarrassing windmilling dance of the person far too into the music on their headphones.

About as frantic as Melt-Banana, also it reminds me of acts such as Sleigh Bells and even Cobra Starship.

So last night as I was sitting in my barracks room, writing for an RP I’m extensively involved in, I decided to revisit Rammstein. What I was writing at the time reminded me vaguely of the music video for Rosenrot, so I decided to use my Spotify Premium to pull up Rammstein’s Rosenrot album and listen to it in its entirety. Hit “Stirb Nicht Vor Mir (Don’t Die Before I Do),” which sounds quite different from the rest of the record, and I don’t recall ever really listening to all of Rosenrot in one go so I didn’t really get to fully experience that song. Instantly loved it.

Truly a beautiful ballad.
