Yeah I know who it's from. I just never got around to it...though I oddly have listened to Galaktikon II. Which is as close to a Metalocalypse finale as we'll ever get.

I mean I haven't got around to listening to his stuff beyond Dethklok, but it can't be bad because Metalocalypse was awesome.

Seriously?

Is his music really more important than public safety?

I watched a few of his youtube videos (he has a youtube channel caled thulean perspective), I don't think he's a threat to public safety, and I don't think he deserves more jail time, but I'm just hoping he left his violence in his youth. I don't agree with any of his ideas at all, I am in an interracial relationship after all, but he hopefully will stick to taking care of his family and not hurting others.

As for the whole metalsucks thing,
Dumb Ideologies wrote:My final word on the Inquisition story:

The events happened close to a decade ago, were not severe enough for the full charge to be pursued, he wasn't put on a sex offenders registry, and the documentation provided by metalsucks indicates that he was a full participant in the group therapy he was assigned and assessed as of very low risk. He does not seem to have committed any offences since.

A key part of progressive legal systems is the idea of rehabilitation. Destroying someone's career in retroactive punishment for things they've gone beyond, and doing so out of a motivation for clicks and to knock down someone you ideologically disagree with, is not good behaviour. It is also worth noting that ex-offenders have a higher risk of falling into behaviour that hurts themselves and others when their career and support networks are pulled from beneath them, so metalsucks have arguably put the public at GREATER risk in their selfish tabloid muck-rakery.

Out of Metalsucks and Inquisition I know which one I'll be boycotting.

This is reasonable. Rehabilitation is good.
But I don't understand why some people are so quick to jump to defend black metal bands, Yeah, duh, they're not going to be beacons of pureness and good, but if someone doesn't want to listen to them anymore then that's not anyone's business. If Metalsucks included more relevant information in its articles, it wouldn't receive all the hate it gets. But they don't, and they act like a tabloid. Just keep in mind that they only represent themselves, not any other ideology or organization.

Oh damn, it's nearly been a decade since 2009. I feel old.

Is "I don't know what the Iron Maiden albums are" an option for the poll? (I'm more of a Led Zeppelin fan myself, even though they arguably/probably aren't a metal band.)

Not underground enough? Oh, very well. Agonizing Journey Through The Burning Universe And Transcendental Ritual Of Transfiguration is perhaps a better choice, then.

Ah... slightly better. They have a wikipedia page in a different language, but... its obscurity is satisfactory. For now.
At least I know what I'll listen to now.

I remember a while back when I first got into Alcest some of you guys (Hurd and Cosumar) started recommending other Alcest songs/albums to me besides Écailles de Lune, and I love all that, but Écailles is still my favorite, I feel, and I also can’t help but feel like the album cover has something to do with that. Something about it is just so beautiful to me, and it fits the music perfectly; that shade of blue, the moonlight illuminated the couple at the bottom of the sea, the way the woman is sitting up looking at the sleeping man, and the way her hair seems to flow with the environment.

I always felt drawn to that cover too. It has a certain mystical allure to it... and the painting style reminds me of Van Gogh’s Starry Night or Over The Rhone. I love Van Gogh.

The intense feelings of awakening and rebirth evoked by “Sur l'océan couleur de fer” in particular perfectly match the celestial yet deeply aquatic artwork.

Alcest enjoyment is definitely mood-dependent for me, so I can see how it makes sense that the album you first connect with would remain the favourite.

On my side, I'm currently enjoying the new Mesarthim album and reckon I've got some catching up to do on previous stuff.

Must have been by means of a link to a YouTube video, since I don't own anything from Alcest myself.

i need some ambient metal to listen to whilst grinding in an mmo. I don't need it to be particularly impressive just enjoyable enough to have on repeat or a few albums to loop through.

Nocte Obducta's three most recent albums could do if creative atmospheric black metal is close enough to being ambient, it's not really like post-black metal, but it works well as background music and for attentive listening too. Umbriel, Mogontiacum, and Totholz.

Slightly addicted to the new Mesarthim album

It's very odd. Never really heard atmospheric black metal before that actually incorporates electronic music well.
