It's really not THAT bad...

Decibel gave it a pretty bad rating and Robb Flynn responded like a Trumpian baby. Pretty immature of him.

Soulburn's self-titled.
Anything by Bolt Thrower.
The first three albums of Desolate Shrine.
Unhuman's self-titled.

Someone on rym gave it a .5 i chalked it up to douchbaggery. Saying Robb responded like a Trump supporter sounds almost ironic considering that I'm pretty sure he hates Trump. I doubt other people especially magazines will sway my opinion, considering everyone thinks the new Cannibal Corpse album is worse than A Skeletal Domain...

A Skeletal Domain is third strongest CC album, the new one doesn't come even near :p

Kill is better, though.

Anyone know any good, fairly active metal-themed online forums or discords?

I'm trying to expand my online social circles a bit as NS is pretty dead nowadays. I lurk on the Encyclopaedia Metallum/Metal Archives forums to find out about bands sometimes but that place is quite up itself and their whole shtick of blacklisting and declaring shit "not metal enough" makes me grumpy.

The Encyclopaedia Metallum has its uses, but Discogs is way more complete. Never went to the forum of Discogs, but it should be active enough given how additions to discographies keep getting added on a daily base.

Ah yes, Metal Archives forums. I remember going there and saying I was going through Bathory. Someone told me to skip Requiem, to which I responded something along the lines: "I already listened to it and it's one of the better albums.".

Those communities aren't too bad, honestly. I don't check up on them very much anymore, but I've found a few bands through there, and a few more through following last.fm profiles of people there.

I hadn't considered reddit. To be fair that might not be a bad shout. Of all things I've always been put off by reddit because it's structured in a way I can't quite get my head around. Might be time to give it a proper go.

And then there was a lot of screeching and the moderators had to intervene, no doubt.

A bit late on this release, but Trivium's The Sin and the Sentence is pretty damn good. The extensive use of blast beats was a bit unexpected, but so far I'm enjoying it.

Well, you can use just about anything. A lot of people love the "super-Strat" offerings from brands like Ibanez, ESP, and so on--personally, I play on Epiphone's Dot and a Les Paul Standard. It really depends on what kind of sound you're going for, but also what you're comfortable playing.

It's a very strange place to adjust to, and the subreddit tribalism is often jarring, but once you find a few communities on reddit that you like it becomes highly addicting. r/metal is mediocre....a handful of elitist pricks and a boatload of tourists. That being said, it's incredibly up to date and I use as the front page for upcoming metal.

I like r/blackmetal generally. It's the easiest way to find new and underground black metal. The community is very active, people there are very literate of the subgenre, its conventions, divisions and nuances, and actively post new releases. I have found many wonderful bands through it. It has a downside: r/blackmetal has a deep-seated Nazi problem, but this only manifests itself when someone posts Aryan Terrorism for the thirtieth time.

Well technically not yet, but as soon as I learn to play on simple Classical Guitar I might advance to Electric. I am a beginner guitarist.
