This makes the new In Flames album sound like an all time classic.

Yikes, that's bad. I don't recall In Flames ever being, y'know, remotaly enjoyable.

My knowledge of Mastodon is limited to this song. I don't like that song hence I haven't felt the need to check their other stuff.

Well he's multi-instrumental and worships Flea from RHCP but also Deftones, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, The Beatles, Ministry, NIN, and a variety of jazz musicians but out of conversation today I learned he also loves Animals as Leaders and BTBAM and occasionally enjoys Dream Theater.

He's not REALLY an "instructor" in a curriculum style as his stepfather was my community college professor for a few years and sort of a mentor to me so I've known him for almost as long. I've only been playing for around a year so he offered to teach me.

My 7th favorite Album and it's not like they have another major release which could make me love them less. I love great grindcore that doesn't waste my time.

I always sing along to any music I know the lyrics to, and I like to think I do a decent job when doing so, except if it's like, you know, death growls or something.

Ooh, now where do we go

I would love to see Jonas & Company in concert. I actually bought one of their live DVDs a few years ago. After searching the tour dates, it looks like they're coming to my city too! Will definitely make it a priority to go.

I'm also really excited about Amorphis finally embarking on a US tour this spring. They're not coming to Austin, but I would totally drive to Dallas or Houston for them. Swallow The Sun supporting makes it even more worth it. Another upcoming show I might consider driving the 4 hours for is Kreator/Obituary.

Amorphis said in an interview than since they haven't toured North America in so long, they're going to make it a wide-ranging setlist that hits all the classics in addition to the newer material. So I'm pretty stoked. Seeing them with Nike and Overkill too would make for an amazing line-up if you have the chance (I've been wanting to hear Nile live for a long time), though it will probably be less comprehensive than their headlining setlist.

As for Katatonia, I hope they play some Viva Emptiness and Great Cold Distance songs. A surprise or two from December Souls would put me over the fucking moon, but I don't really expect them to.
