So I learned today that Disturbed is making a comic. And an action figure and coffee

And while it looks cool (okay I might actually try the coffee) I can't help but notice that they're becoming (or maybe just being more visible) sell-outs imo.

Well anyway not like I've been listening to them lately anyway. Instead I've been exploring some other bands that I've never listened to until a couple months ago. Hypocrisy, Dimmu Borgir, and Ruoska to name a few.

And of course binging the hell out of Stvore because I can never get tired of them.

Eh, I'm just used to bands selling 4 things. Music, shows, clothes and posters. All that just seems...weird to me

besides I thought you hated Disturbed anyway never thought you of all people would defend them

That reminds me of the Italian opera death metal band Fleshgod Apocalypse and their pasta brand. Granted, that was back in 2013.

Somebody should make a meal. Fleshgod Apocalypse pasta with Marky Ramone's sauce, ZUN's beer, finish with a shot of Santo tequila, and afterwards take a shower with Laibach soap.
But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. The Shrine Maiden had won the victory over herself. She loved Big Youkai.

When metal is very much an integral part of your nation's culture, it is inevitable that it will pop up in commercials.

Being a sell-out isn't necessarily a bad thing, tbf. As long as they aren't sacrificing their sound for money I don't have a problem with it. They're a great band and if they want to make more money on merchandise that's fine, as long as they keep making good music too.

Bought the latest Immolation album Acts Of God recently, and I'm glad I did. As expected from this veteran New York death metal combo, it's a worthy addition to their discography. Dark, foreboding and iconoclastic as always. It's amazing how consistent Immolation always has remained throughout the decades.

"The Moon" is honestly one of Amorphis' best tracks since Skyforger for me. Rest of the album is growing on me too.

I need to check out the rest of their discography. I love the new album and select tracks from early albums like "Father You're Not a Father" and "Here In After".

The Great War's mediocre sound was definitely a fluke because The War to End All Wars absolutely slays by comparison.

They definitely were. I wish the crowd at my show was more hype though. They were opening for two bigger bands in Mastodon and Opeth and it seemed like no one else there knew their music but me lol.

Went to a small local metal gig this weekend. There were three bands, but I came away particularly impressed with local Charlotte doom metal band Cosmic Reaper.

Dope live performance with a superb atmosphere. Check em out. I could see them becoming a big name in the doom/stoner/psych scene in the next few years. They really nail that thick, fuzzy sonic pallet with occultish chanted vocals.

Classic indeed. Was never super into Riot, but the current US Power Metal scene pretty much owes itself to this album!

Any power metal warriors are already aware of this group, I'm sure. But if you're not, here's a classic album in my book.
