I remember sometime in the past Cosumar went on vacation and didn't listen to metal for like a week. I liked the sound of that. I'm not going anywhere, but I think I'm going to go volcel with metal for a week, and I'll see if metal sounds heavier at the end of the week. I'm not sure what I'm going to listen to for a lot of the time, maybe nothing, but I think the albums for the end of the week will be Epicus Doomicus Metallicus and Balls to the Wall.

It was like 9 days and, yeah, music sounded fresher and more impactful when I got back. The feeling lasted only for a day or two though.

While I'm listening to Zeni Geva, a Japanese act which happens to be a bit heavier than the stuff you're currently into.

Guys, if you know the band Grinded Nig, please stop me from listening to them, these are literally disgusting people and their racism should not be tolerated. But their songs are so catchy, I can't stop but listen to them.

That band is despicable, Stojam. Just stop. Don't give them any publicity whatsoever.

I'm listening to the new Orphaned Land album and, weirdly, the Spotify version has curse words obnoxiously bleeped out. What's up with that?

I’m actually loving the album though, otherwise. It’s stylistically similar to All Is One, so anyone who likes that album should check it out. Plus there are guest appearances from the singers of Blind Guardian and At The Gates.

I listen to a few pop rock idol groups where the pop element is verrrrry prominent and the rock bit is that very distantly there's guitars in the background.

T-this is alternative rather than normie music, honestly!

Emblematic of why the band is a bit of a meh for me - they occasionally pop up in my recommendations. I listen to the full song, but it's always a 6/10. Not bad, but placeholder music which feels like it was written by committee.

Start listening to black metal. You'll stop caring about the lyrics, image, message, etc., in no time. And by black metal, I of course refer to NSBM and other forms of black metal which actively call for suicide and destruction of values; just remember that shit like Dimmu Borgir and Behemoth is for children, and Cradle of Filth aren't even black metal.

Lucky you, I could never get into the latter. But if that's the case, why would you care about a bunch of racists who can pull off great music? Imagine how many bands we couldn't listen to: Burzum, Absurd, Grand Belial's Key, Arghoslent, Fanisk, Spear of Longinus (!)...

The reason is I hate Racists and basically I want to get their songs of my head, because they are damn catchy. Ok let's stop talking about them and ride off to other subjects.

Which song? My favorites from Unsung Prophets so far are Chains Fall To Gravity, Left Behind, My Brother's Keeper, Take My Hand, and Only The Dead Have Seen The End of the War. Might be worth checking out some of those too.

And don't most bands write their music together by committee? :p

Missa Defunctorum: Requiem Mass in A Minor by Denigrata is a rather impressive avant-garde black metal album with subtle industrial effects.

If you like Metallica, besides further diving into classic Metallica, I would branch out into some of the other big popular metal bands like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Pantera, Machine Head, Black Sabbath and Mastodon. If you find yourself craving heavier/faster stuff, we can go from there.

Shush. NSBM belongs in the dustbin of history. If you want to be edgy with your music then drunk New Yorkers will do.

Worst song on Killers? Definitely Prodigal Son because of it's 6 minute plus run time. If it was shorter then it'd be a toss up with Purgatory. But the A-side is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than B-side. "Best Iron Maiden album" ha, not with that B-side
