I went to Puerto Rico to visit family a month ago and forgot to prepare myself, I only had Obituary's self-titled album to listen to, and I didn't have data over there to download/stream more. Nor did anyone have access to the internet.
So that was fun. Sick to death of Obituary now, but jeeze.

Aye. My dad doesn't mind it as much, but every time I bring up the subject, he just tells me to be careful not to listen to satanic bands, so I can't talk about metal with him either.
Besides, he can't taake my black metal away.

I was joking about her being part of an official organization, but she might as well be. She even thinks classic rock is satanic.

And this is why I'm proud to be from a refined non-religious family that doesn't go out of its way to boycott crap they're not fans of.

My immediate family isn't very religious at all, but on the moms side there are various religious people, though none seem super fanatic and actually can't stand the fanatics either.

If you go off of my dads side, it is different. I think his brother may have somehow became religious, but his parents were NEVER religious. Like, they came from the Bible Belt and were not religious at all kind of thing. Which is interesting.

And that is why my dad isn't religious, and now me, most likely. So it is nice because I've never even remotely had boycott worries in this house. In fact, we can all appreciate a variety of music, and none of us care about "restrictions" or "boycotts" and honestly the same goes for movies. We'd probably all enjoy some of the most controversial stuff more.

Say what you want about Avenged Sevenfold's first album but it's the perfect mix of angst, imperfection, and general heaviness for when you're going through a break-up.

I fucking love that album, idc. Breakup or not.

And every family needs to be like Corrian's family. At least as far as art/entertainment is concerned :p

We all have a mutual hatred for typical pop music and radio stuff in general.

And I love being able to openly share music with my dad (Honestly, I probably do that because he made me open to music)

On that, I'll probably be seeing two shows in October. Chelsea Wolfe late October, and Dead Rider and Free Salamander Exhibit early next month I think.
