I've been listening to a lot of Odal and Wolfhetan. Odal's "Zornes Heimat" and Wolfhetan's "Was der Tag nicht anht" both have very audible bass throughout, which adds a nice touch to the riffs.

That's also really good.

On a big Watain buzz right now. To those who like them: Favorite release? Mine, although kind of predictable (as an opinion) is Lawless Darkness.

Lawless Darkness is the only Watain album I've heard. I remember liking it, especially "Waters of Ain". Their earlier work is in my backlog.

All their material is great. Even their latest, 2013's The Wild Hunt, is growing on me more even though I initially really disliked it.

Uploaded the songs I recorded last night. I was front & center, so they turned out pretty clear and nice!

Katatonia - Evidence (love how they changed up the ending)
Katatonia - Lethean (dat solo)
Katatonia - In The White (partial, poorer quality)
Caspian - Malacoda (post-rock)
Uncured - Spontaneous Regeneration (progressive death metal)

That's the ending they've been doing since Roger joined the band (i.e. last year). He's such an underrated guitarist and vocalist, also he's in Tiamat.

That explains a lot. I was shocked when that voice came out of nowhere.

Great Doom metal cover of De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas aptly titled De Mysteriis Doom Sathanas. I think this is my favorite band that's formed in the past couple of years.

I was expecting this to be some gimmicky amateur cover on YouTube, but fucking hell... that was actually pretty awesome. Never thought I would hear that song done that way. Even the vocalist's attempts to emulate Attila's weird snarls and shit in a few spots weren't too bad :lol2:

This reminds me that Messiah Marcolin was supposedly friends/acquaintances with Mayhem vocalist Per "Dead" Ohlin. And now Crypt Sermon is covering Mayhem..... maybe Crypt Sermon really is the spiritual successor of Candlemass!

Crypt Sermon is the real deal. I would say they are the modern Candlemass. And also, didn't know that about Messiah and Dead, only that Dead was in the Bewitched video. I guess that would explain how he got there though.

Also, if this is where Crypt Sermon is going, I think this is going to be great.

The single from Craven Idol's new album is pretty cool black/thrash.

Really? Sweet. Maybe you can make a metal head out of her yet.

My sisters favorite band is Kamelot (And she got one of her best friends obsessed with them), so she's liked metal anyway. We're both influenced by our dad, who was a metal head in high school. She grew up on things like Metallica, Faith No More, and such with me, so. And she's also really liked Tool.

That's not fair The Jester Race and Subterranean are fantastic releases. Sure In Flames cast themselves directly into the septic tank effectively skipping the toilet and piping whereas DT was consistently worse than the other Swede Death Bands especially Entombed and 90s Edge of Sanity.
