Yes. Primus sucks. (In a good way)

Try out the Frizzle Fry album for some odd yet catchy funk metal.

In a good way?

Tried it. Not a fan.

"Primus sucks" is a running joke in the band's fanbase.

Maybe it's a subtle reference to the intricacies of the Cold War?

Galborea wrote:Depends. If you want more old-school black metal with a slight bit of melody (not at Dissection levels) and Viking aesthetic, go to the albums Frost, Eld, and Mardraum. For the newer prog black metal, the best albums would be Monumension, Below the Lights, Axioma Ethica Odini, and RIITIIR

I'm usually more of a fan of more unique approaches of black metal than old school black metal. Not that that can't be unique, too, it just doesn't appeal to me as much with just straight up black metal. So I'll add the latter ones.

Yup, heard funk stuff before. Not this specific band, but, as mentioned, Primus, which you heard, and some of Faith No More

I think Lendol got it for ya, albeit 1 year off according to 'Murican law. But you still need to listen to Epica's work AFTER they got the drummer and guitarist of God Dethroned.

Design Your Universe is one of my all time favorite albums but it's a bit of a tricky one to get into with its progginess (ahem almost 14 minute long opus) but anything after that one is good too. The Quantum Enigma is more accessible and the new album The Holographic Principle is probably their heaviest.

Nope. They were never good :p Unless you're a big fan of mid-2000s deathcore. That was definitely never my thing though.

I know I'm the only one here who actually likes a large amount of deathcore but this band has NEVER been good. Sometimes tolerable but far more often just plain shit. The funny thing is this vocalist USED to be good in his old band All Shall Perish.
