I have a 57 and I'm gonna be getting a 58.

I have a couple other mics, MXR I think, but they're more of a niche type of mic. I have a skinny one that's amazing for clean or acoustic recordings that I would prefer over the 57

You forgot Yggdrasill, which is probably a 6/5 in your book. Maybe even a 6.5/5!

I haven't gotten around to exploring Enslaved's discography in much depth either.

Of the albums I've heard:
1. Frost
2. Below the Lights
3. In Times
4. Mardraum: Beyond the Within

And I haven't listened to #2 or #4 in like four or five years either. Vikingligr veldi is somewhere in my backlog.

I'm still surprised you've never heard any of their stuff. Enslaved are considered one of the best black metal bands out there especially in the "untrve" category.

I haven't really explored black metal a ton yet. I've started with a fair amount, but not a ton.

Never thought I'd hear swing and metal in one song.

I kinda like it, though.

Depends. If you want more old-school black metal with a slight bit of melody (not at Dissection levels) and Viking aesthetic, go to the albums Frost, Eld, and Mardraum. For the newer prog black metal, the best albums would be Monumension, Below the Lights, Axioma Ethica Odini, and RIITIIR

Awesome! I wish I had the time and initiative to do something like that. Will you post some recordings here when they're finished?

Yeah hopefully.

Just under half of the songs on Katatonia's The Great Cold Distance are exactly 4:20 in length.

Yes. Primus sucks. (In a good way)

Try out the Frizzle Fry album for some odd yet catchy funk metal.

Huh. I never noticed that. I wonder if it was intentional. Maybe those numbers have some significance to the band.
