Wasteland Thread

Hello Denizens of NationStates, many of you are probably familiar with the Fallout Series, but before that there was Wasteland. Fallout actually came about because Interplay was unable to get their hands on the company that made Wasteland. Wasteland 2 was described by users as "the Fallout 3 we always deserved but never got." Wasteland 3 will soon be made into a game and has garnered almost 3 million most of which came in the first 3 days of the fundraising thing.

Though, i am not fully aware whether anyone here one NS plays Wasteland, but this thread has been made for the purpose of discussing and talking about it.

Is it me but does Wasteland 2 OST - "Rangers" have a bit of Gold Slouch mix into it?

I' have Wasteland 2, it's an amazing game. I've played the original Fallout and Wasteland 2 is a much more polished and in-depth game — though that's not a big surprise, given that the former is 20 years old.

Maybe but i thonk there even as fallout took things from wasteland even upto NV. So yeah

The thing about Wasteland that i like, is your actions actully affect the world around you, not just additional dialogue or karma, but actually effects the world.

It's just kinda sad that Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Fallout 4 were kind of dumbed down, compared to what was.
(Oh yeah, I've played all Fallout games, not inc luding the godawful Brotherhood of Steel game on the PS)

I grew up playing older RPGS like Balders Gate, the first two fallouts and of course wasteland 1. Man you could break wasteland 1 easily with the double loot bag glitch getting you the unobtainable Red Rider Super and a couple of Overpowered armors. Though the double loot bag glitch would rarely happen unless you were actively trying to get it.

I have it on ps4 which means annoying ass controls, but I've sort of gotten used to it

I'm planning on doing a "Supreme Jerk" play-through, you do half damage and take double.

I'm going to be abusing the quirk that gives you +1 on all abilities on equal levels and -1 on odd levels. You can actually skip a level up until it's even.
