Due to boredom, I decided to research the gens.

There's a pattern to them (3-4 years between each one), so expect to get Gen. 8 in 2019-2020.

Hello, I enjoy Pokemon, though I have a limited budget, so I don't have any official games. I do enjoy fangames, with my personal favorite being Infinite Fusion. I am an idiot though. I did the math wrong on a calculation for the Pokemon I intended to fight Brock with (a fusion of Pidgey and Meowth). I couldn't use the Mankey because Brock uses a flying/rock type. I was intending for my Pidth to have Gust and Bite, but I forgot to calculate the fact that the new pokemon gets the head's learned moves. So now I have an unholy abomination.

And this is why you need to pay attention when attending calculus classes.

I'll have you know I beat him. I fused a Ratatatta and a Mankey, and a Nidoran and a Mankey. Ratkey kept flinching Brock's Geogey, so it couldn't attack. Then Manoran Koed his Manix (Mankey + Onix).

How exactly does this fusion work?

SImply put: it will learn the full moveset of both Pokemon
The head is the lowest level Pokemon, also contributes 1/3 of the stats and Type 1. Also color. The moves already learned at the time of fusion are kept by this part.
The body is the highest level Pokemon, is the second type, and contributes the other 2/3s of the stats.
So, the Manix is a Rock/Fighting type.

So it's possible to create an overpowered dark ghost type?

Right now, it only has Gen 1. So, no.

They plan to add G2 in the future. I don't know when that will be though.

But you can use fusions to make Magikarp useful. All hail the superior race of Butterkarp (Butterfree head + Magikarp body)! It will forget that useless splash attack and have things like Poison Powder, Confusion, and all those other wonderful moves.

But it's so much work to level a Magikarp to level 20. . .

How to win gen I with fusions:

Get a water type of your choosing.

Get a Dragonair.

Fuse.

Dragon/Water has no weaknesses in Gen I

Does water resist dragon in gen 1? Or was dragon not super effective against itself?

That's why I always catch mine when they are past level 20. Then just EXP share them for a while, and boom, Gyrados.

Dragon was weak to dragon in gen 1.

The only dragon type attack though was Dragon Rage and it always did 40hp damage.

Fairy isn't a thing until gen 6, unless they introduce pokémon with their current types (Clefairy as fairy instead of normal)

Even so, there aren't any fairy-type attacking moves until gen 6
