Yeah, the expansions also come with an update that adds ~200 cut Pokémon.

And both the expansions and update are gonna be free.

The articles I've been reading seem to indicate it's gonna cost ya
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2020 ... expansions
Pokémon Sword and Shield are getting a £27 Expansion Pass which will unlock two big DLCs over the course of the year that include new areas and new Pokémon.

The Isle of Armor is coming before the end of June 2020, while The Crown Tundra is due autumn 2020.

Edit: You got it

Huh. Cool. So that puts the number of cut Pokémon at what, 300ish?

Wait, NVM, the expansions are for charge, while the update is free.

So yeah, the current number of cut Pokémon will be ~300, but yet GameFreak is dumb enough to charge for expansions.

Ah, in which case you'll probably be spending upwards of $100 on the game before you even unlock all the Pokémon. Fantastic and not at all unexpected.

Also as noted in the article, if you want the expansions for both versions of the game, you'll need to buy it twice.

Honestly, as much as I do like the idea of expansions to the games now, it does very much reek of "rush release, get the rest out as DLC". And the price points are a kick in the teeth as well.

R&B remake is fuuuuunnnnnnnn (and the original guide still works yay)

The demo goes up until the cutscene before Mt. Steel but you can still walk around the town.

Perhaps Charmander is my favourite starter out of your list.

(1) It's the only one out of your list that can fly when it's fully evolved so riding on it in the sky when it finally evolves into a Charizard sounds like fun to me

(2) I think I like Charmander and all its evo designs more than the designs of the other listed Pokemon

Reminder as to why Nintendo should just outright buy the franchise already.

So the new expansions have to be paid for? Yeah that is quite scummy up GameFreak. I mean Sword and Shield are not bad games but charging money for just putting some Pokemon back in is a load of horseshit.
I do be tired

Eh not really. I would say their of a lower quality than the previous games but not terrible just kinda eh. I would say their like a 5 to 6 out of 10.

They're poorly don't handheld games that cost $60.

It's ok to like them, but compared to the rest of the series they're pitiful by comparison.

You'll be able to obtain Pokémon featured in the Expansion Pack even if you do not own said pack, you'll have to do trades or HOME transfers though.

I cannot decide if Galarian Zapdos is just goofy or the coolest of the three. If it has a monstrous speed statistic (or a massive attack statistic with Speed Boost) I can see myself loving it.

What Pokémon would you especially like to see get a Gigantamax form in the expansions?
We know they are adding at least seven, so that may be all, but I hope there will be others. I would personally love to see a Gigantamax Araquanid or Galvantula. The types that most need them are Dark, Ghost, Ice and Ground, so maybe Hydreigon (full hydra, loads of heads), Dhelmise (a ghost ship), Frosmoth (ice queen moth) and Torterra (world turtle). I doubt any of them will, but speculation is harmless.

I haven't bought it, nor has anyone else I know IRL.

Why are so intent on white knighting franchises that don't deserve it?

16 million people did buy it tho.

Im not white knighting anything. I said that the boycotts would not work. As I supected they did not work. Just like left for dead 2 and modern warfare 2's boycotts didn't work.

Not all of 'em. With the 3DS my dissatisfaction was already high, and the whole boycott thing has driven home the point that it just isn't worth it anymore ...... I mean, what is the potential audience of a boycott, and how many people even willing to consider a boycott are also opening month purchasers? I'm guessing not much more than a couple hundred thousand people. It wouldn't be reflected in sales in the league of tens of millions anyway. There is no telling the effect except for statistically useless personal testimony.

*cough cough*

The boycott's objective to slow or stop sales of Sw and Sh has failed. Most sales are in the first few months of launch meaning that Sw and Sh got most of that 16 mill in the first month of launch.

The boycott has, excluding a few people, failed.

39/51, ~80% success rate.

Bear in mind that a lot of people who sign up for groups, vote negatively in polls, and even write out explanations of why they're not buying the game are just letting off steam about a game they're disatisfied with, and not necesarilly indicative of all boycotters. It's pretty rude to deny others that outlet by saying, Nope, boycotts are ineffective, too bad, can't do nothing. Boycotts are probably ineffective on a large scale, but they can and do work for individuals. (And sometimes only as a story to make them feel better.)

e: But sure, if the goal is to reduce such a large chunk of sales or stop sales, they're delusional. I don't think the largest audience even knows exactly what they're buying beyond Pokemon.
