No. He never has and now never will because the new series is a reboot.

That is a real shame if that is the case, I think they have missed a trick there. Kalos Ash could have passed for a teenager, so if they had not ruined the art style they could have had a convincingly adolescent Ash win the league in Alola. As had already been established during the Sinnoh seasons (expecting continuity from Pokémon? Ludicrous!) he can only challenge the Champion League of his own region, so they could have had a shorter season of his return to Kanto, assembling his strongest team (bring back Infernape!), defeating the Elite Four and then becoming the Champion.

Then they could have introduced a new main character, maybe someone moving from Kanto to Galar. Have them be a fan of Ash, to enforce continuity and instantly create a connection between them and the audience. Perhaps when they go to meet Professor Oak to get their starter just before they move, they meet Ash there, and on Ash's recommendation Oak gives them a Pikachu (perhaps female to have visual distinction).
There, a rebooted series that creates many new opportunities without offending long-time viewers. I do not understand their current mindset - resetting Ash too much will annoy fans but will not do much for new viewers, as to them it makes no difference whether it is a rebooted Ash or a completely new character.

While SwSh may have been massive disappointments to most people, including myself, I have to say that the music for the games are fucking tight.

The Gym battle theme gets me hyped every time.

Yeah the gym theme (especially when that chanting starts) is so hype. And the legendary theme with the howling is also pretty good.

So despite having more clothing options than ever, for the 3rd gen in a row, male fashion choices still pale in comparison to the female choices. I'm not happy with you Game Freak.

Yeah, I like Style Savvy, what of it? >_>

Can we discuss this???
I have to disagree with some of their conclusions.
a. The Gliscor family cannot be reasonably considered a member of the Poké-Scorpiones. The presence of wings, possibly the eyes, the presence of actual teeth, and the presence and shape of ear-like structures on the head suggest that it is a bat (cf. Noivern) and merely mimics an arthropod. The reverse would probably be much harder to evolve.
b. The classification of the Flygon family as part of the Poké-Neuroptera is iffy at best based on the body plan (cf. Hydreigon).
c. Although the Tyranitar family undergoes a pupal stage, that isn't enough to consider it part of the Poké-Insecta.

A lot of Pokémon seem to have insect esque life stages even though they begin and or end as other kinds of animals, now that I think about it.

Oh my word I love Dracovish. I find all of the fossils hilarious, as they are basically referencing the utter travesty that was early fossil research in the UK, along with incidents like the Piltdown Man, but what is even funnier is how the pokedex both tries to justify their existence (by acting as if they are real things that went extinct) while also making it absolutely clear that it is nonsense. Dracovish's entry is the best:

Its mighty legs are capable of running at speeds exceeding 40 mph, but this Pokémon can't breathe unless it's underwater.

Edit: Oh, and a very handy tip: When doing Ditto raids, bring a legendary. Raid Ditto cannot transform into things which cannot dynamax.

A. Then how would you explain the segmented body, exo-skeleton, and pincers/tails?
B. I agree. It's also obvious that Vibrava and Flygon have endo-skeletons and backbones.
C. If the Tyranitar family gets added then you'd also have to add the Salamence family.

The body isn't indisputably segmented; the apparent segments in parts could be stripes (except on the tail). It kind of seems to have an exoskeleton, but that could still be incredibly complex mimicry. Although the pincers might seem at first glance damning, one must remember that the pincers of the only solid representatives of the Poké-Scorpiones (Drapion family) are different from those of the real Scorpiones. Gliscor's pincers share much more in common with some members of the Poké-Crustacea.
C. If the Tyranitar family gets added then you'd also have to add the Salamence family.

Ehhh, Pupitar is at least a much more traditional insect pupa. Shelgon could still be argued to be a vertebrate.

My goodness, the Clefable max raids are frustrating. It insists on using Minimise and Metronome, and if it has the ability Cute Charm then physical attackers become all but useless (they are either immobilised by love or miss the vast majority of the time)

Here are some of the most useful things i have learned so far:

- Max Raid Ditto cannot transform into legendaries.
- Max Raid dens count as caves for the Dusk Ball.
- Non-promotional Max Raids have a 100% capture chance for the host only. I have heard that it also extends to non-promotional gigantamax raids, while promotional ones have a much lower chance.
- Steel Beam is a terrible move.
- If there is a second's pause between the shivering of berry trees, it is safe to shake it again. If it is shivering each second, it is not.
- Raid Pokemon who get shields have thresholds at which they gain them, and cannot be taken below that threshold until it has triggered. For example, if a raid Centiskorch was 1 hit point above one such threshold, was at -2 due to a previous shield break, and you hit it with a +2 Tyranitar Max Rockfall Critical Hit, you will deal 1 damage (in my experience at least, and it is easiest to see with multi-hit moves such as Dragon Darts).
- Do not bother with moves like Swords Dance in raids. The foe will negate your statistic changes at whim, and attacks are always needed in order to trigger or break down shields.
- There is a trainer in the Battle Tower with an Excadrill that uses both Fissure and Horn Drill. They should die.
- If you got the Gigantamax Meowth, giving it an amulet coin and going through the league again (using G-Max Gold Rush 3 times per battle) will net you over 100,000 dollars per battle.
- Curry is the new affection maker, and its healing effect means purchasing healing items is basically unnecessary (at least for people like me who never use them during a battle). The only time for them would be in parts of the main story where you are battling a few people in a row and are not in areas which allow tents.
- Make sure to do runs of the WIld Area to get berries, ingredients from the hiker people, and watts from the active dens (even if you do not bother challenging them). Bring Quick Balls to lob at anything you bump into that you have not caught yet.

I hope at least one of these is useful to at least one of you.

Edit: My apologies for the double-post.

I guess if you haven't played since Yellow, you won't be missing out on much. As Andsed said, you might want to wait until it's on sale.
Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are much better choices to get with a Switch in terms of Nintendo games.

Yellow was my first Pokèmon game. I must say, it's aged quite well. The newest game I have is Emerald, on the GBA...
