I think its fine. One thing I like about Pokémon is the light-hearted and simple morality. Brooding anti-heroes and grim, morally ambiguous worlds are fine and all, but I like to have a break now and then. I'm sure any Pokémon game or show aimed at adults would suck. The charm lies in its immaturity.

Origins and Generations is probably the farthest pokémon has ever strayed from its usual juvenile tone recently animation-wise. We all know just how contrasting the manga is compared to the anime. And gen 5 and 7 delved into some slightly less sunshine-and-rainbows themes, too, especially surrounding N and Lillie.

I haven't actually played the original BW, but BW2 implies a cult-like structure in Team Plasma, which is also a more mature theme.

it probably best to....because I would literally throw myself off a bridge if there was a scene between misty and ash.
Anyone who has seen any adult version of a kids show on HBO knows it can turn graphic fast...

Well, they already made and adult version of Pokemon though...

Current team is Decidueye, Blaziken, Greninja, Ribombee, Lycanroc (Day form), and Wishiwashi (With school form). I was thinking Ribombee since they're both Fairies, but other's input would be nice.

But at the same time both Mimikyu and Decidueye are Ghost. Personally I'd replace Ribombee because the types it's STABs are strong against will then be covered by the rest of the team's STABs. But then personally I'd look at removing one of Greninja or Wishiwashi (and probably the latter) because unless Geninja has Protean that's half your team with a weakness to Grass.
