We already have a punch-bug with Heracross, but another would be neat. Also, Yanmega is unfortunately) Bug/Flying.

One really cool idea that I remember seeing is a hermit crab pokémon that changes its type depending on what pokéball you catch it in.

Having mixed feelings towards the current Pokemon anime, after watching a few episodes. The drawing style is very nice for the backgrounds and buildings, and the characters aren't exactly as flat as I felt they were in Sinnoh. But I dislike the animation of the characters themselves (their voices also all sort of blur together), and I hate just about everything about the obnoxious Rotomdex. I mean, what sort of dictionary was Rotomdex programmed with that it didn't know what "awesome" mean't?

I'm fine with the animation and Most character designs (looking at you Ash). I really liked the direction they were going in terms of Pokemon giving off a more mature feeling in the XY and XYZ seasons. Same thing with Pokemon Generations I want more stuff like this. Now they backtracked into a really kid friendly, lighthearted comedy version. So far it's ok, but I'm hoping that it gets a lot better when Lillie's family is introduced.

Also just noticed there is a preview of the next episode supposedly introducing Gladion and that Ash may battle him.

I don't think they'll release a new game for another two years or so, Sun and Moon are still relatively new.

I know, and I am just guessing. But...it just 'feels right'. Nintendo is adopting a strategy of spacing out major first party releases every 1-2 months. In order to keep demand high for the Switch which, seems to be working. I mean I just purchased Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and I own the original on the Wii U. I would absolutely invest in a upgraded Sun or Moon game despite owning a finished Moon for my 3DS.

Pokemon is arguably Nintendo's most powerful exclusive IP. Up with Mario and Zelda. I think Nintendo knows this and will and should take advantage of it.

Also, the anime apparently has separate timelines (As can be seen by the upcoming movie).

3, maybe a spinoff or something like that.
