Would you all mind if I switched my Trevenant out for a Wash Rotom, considering it comes from Rotom, which is half ghost?

Or maybe an Aegislash.

It loses its ghost typing when it becomes Wash Rotom so yes I would mind, but if its normal rotom then you're fine. Aegislash would be fine as well.

Also, could the leaders also make a separate team specifically for challenging other leaders and the Elite Four, much like how the gym leaders in platinum use different teams outside of the gyms than they do inside? Actually, scratch that.

Get rid of the smooth rock on hippowdon and replace it with leftovers, also slack off is one of the main reasons hippowdon is good as a mixed/physical wall/tank so you should either remove stone edge, stealth rock or toxic.

I didn't want to make it too much like my Torterra, which has leftovers, stealth rock, and synthesis. I want to have that smooth rock so that Sandstorm lasts longer, but i can replace something with slack off. Should I just replace Torterra, then?

If torterra has stealth rock then replace hippowdon's stealth rock with slack off. I think torterra gives you some coverage so I would keep it. I haven't used torterra so I don't know what its usual role on a team is.

I think raichu could win because it can know focus blast even though its only slightly slower. Alola Persian has only 60 base attack which is awful even with foul play because alola raichu is a special attacker not physical. That makes persian's fur coat ability useless against raichu as well. On top of this raichu has better defenses than persian. Of course persian still has a chance if it has the technician ability and knows faint attack or any dark type move with a power of 60. Would it kill raichu? Maybe it would certainly be close. Having effort values in attack helps with that.

Persian does know fake out as well and if that is boosted by technician then I would say persian clearly wins.

In terms of appearance, Alolan Vulpix/Ninetales is my favorite, but alas, its typing is absolutely terrible :(

I like Alolan Raichu and Marowak, too.

Torterra is mostly there for the same reason Gastrodon is: its just one of my favorite pokémon. The one I used in Platinum (and Moon through Pokebank) had pokérus, so it outsped a lot of pokemon. A speedy tank is certainly a force to be reckoned with :p

They lose a lot of tankiness when they get speed though. Torterra isn't actually fast (its an overgrown tortoise with rocks and trees growing out of its shell for pete's sake) its base speed is 56. Same thing with gastrodon it isn't fast at all

I know, but just from the stat boost that it got from Pokérus made it faster than a lot of pokémon it faced. It was still an absolute tank. The one I'm using for this league, unfortunately, will not have that speed boost. I also got rid of the quick claw on Gastrodon for a Rindo Berry.

Including you, we have four gym leaders right now. We could just make us four the Elite Four and any future applications gym leaders, then we can start off the tournament to decide the champion later today.

Although I must say I have a soft spot for Marowak since it gains ghost typing, which is my favorite type. (If that wasn't already obvious)

Every app is being accepted until we have a maximum of 12 (E4 and 8 leaders)

Sorry. I definitely got a bit carried away there :p

If we do start the tourney today, we can always postpone your battles for when you're available.
But I'm still thinking: should we use our gym teams or our own custom teams for the tourney?
