Ok...so I was wondering what water type is better in Alpha Sapphire...

IIRC, Sharpedo-Mega is usually better in non-weird tiers.

Feeling the need to give my Pokémon hot takes. I’m not a big Pokémon player, I just, y’know, like Pokémon.
Note: It should be obvious which games I grew up playing.

Snivy is one of the best starters. Just look at that adorable smug lil’ snake.
In fact, all the Gen V starters have wonderful first forms, and Snivy/Oshawott’s evos are pretty dang good.
Tepig’s are kinda bleh though.
But y’know, I’ll say it. I’m not scared. Gen V is a tippity-top tier gen when it comes to cute starters and Snivy/Oshawott are very high on my rankings.

Charmander is, in my opinion, overrated. Least cute of the Gen 1 starters and Charizard isn’t really that cool.
Charmeleon is also the worst second form of the starters.

Trubbish is absolutely adorable. He is my garbage boy.

Maybe it’s just nostalgia but I kinda miss the 2D sprite based aesthetic.

Not an unpopular opinion:

They’re well liked and still, somehow, underrated.

Stats can get outta my face. If I have to choose between a perfectly min-maxed Pokémon or my terrible starter, I’m choosing my starter.
I mean, this probably isn’t an unpopular opinion either, now that I think about it. Min-maxers might just be more prevalent online. I dunno.

Agreed. Decidueye is by far the best final evo of the Gen VII starters. The other two are kinda meh to me.

I think it's very cute, and its stats, type and movepool are very adequate for in-game. We're not talking a Meganium scenario here.

Probably it's not great in competitive, but I'm the sort of player who spends infinitely more time in Pokemon Refresh than on Smogon, so....
