Complete and utter bullshit. I really do hope Game Freak changes their mind on this.

Edit: Though TBH I will honestly probably still buy the game. I mean it sucks we cannot transfer our pokemon but that is honestly not a huge deal for me.

Oh, I wasn't expecting positive feedback.....but I can actually see them doing that for the evil team, but personally we should bring back the greatest evil team of all time.....Team Plasma! Ok, maybe I'm alone in this, but Team Plasma is the coolest evil team, Ghetsis is what makes them cool, their Neo uniform looks epic, and they overall are just cool. The original grunts also look cool...some pics for you all

Ok, maybe I'm alone in this, but Team Plasma is the coolest evil team, Ghetsis is what makes them cool, their Neo uniform looks epic, and they overall are just cool.

Team Plasma is definitely the best evil team (just ahead of the Aether Foundation). They're very plausible and Ghetsis just exudes pure evil. I also liked the ex-Plasma support group in B2W2.

I'm disappointed that we won't be able to transfer pokemon from older gens, but it's not a deal breaker.

I hope that the game will get delayed to add this support or at the least a patch post launch.

But I also understand that taking over 800+ models from US/UM, making them from SD to HD, then having to do the same for each expression must be an incredible work load.

I'll be getting the game anyways however. It still looks fun.

On the boycotting thing, I don't think it will work. Remember when L4D2 had a boycott? That didn't work so well.

They made entirely new 3D models for old Pokémon at the start of Gen 6; having a team of designers subdivide surfaces and make high-res textures is significantly less difficult. That's a poor excuse for this stupid flaw.

I know most disagree, but I would have preferred if the games just stayed sprite based if that meant we could keep all our Pokemon. Or had the clunky models and movements as the Stadium or Gamecube Orre games. All of them gave the Pokemon as much character and charm as the models we saw in XY. Shovel Knight, Stardew Valley, and Undertale are recent games with large followings despite their 2D graphics.

I would boycott these games, since I find interacting with my living dex my favorite part of the game, but a loved one already preordered the game for me and I lack the courage to disappoint them.

At the start of gen 6, there were only about 100 less Pokémon than there are now, and there are even better templates to use...

Team Skull is hilarious, but I don't think they were good at being evil, per se. Not in the way that Plasma was.

The difference is that they made skull likable. We went from everyone still cosplays Rocket, Magma, and Aqua to Team Skull is the most cosplayed team in all of pokemon. Never before have i seen people embrace a team before especially in a generation where they maxed out on easiness and made the friendliest weakest rival possible. At least Kukui was a good "champion" of all the improvements USUM made they somehow thought it was a good idea to make Hau the "champion".

Fair enough, but that is still a relatively major decrease being only one 8th of how many models to work on.
