Although this year I will probably just go as a cat again, the decor I'm centering on is of the Dia de los Muertos. I'm very taken with it this year and even got a kit to make sugar skulls.

This Halloween I'm gonna have to deal with the most spookiest things I know of...final exams! *DUN DUN DUUUN*

Seriously though my plans are kinda ruined by the last minute changes made in my exam timetable this year. Shame because I had big plans with Halloween. At least I got Christmas ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Halloween will go on like every year for me: Buying some cheap materials for a homemade costume, most likely a necromancer or warlock - or a batman villain like the penguin - and then going to one of the Halloween parties in one of the bars of my hometown.

We in Austria started only a few years ago to actively celebrate Halloween and I´m glad that there are real parties in my town, as Halloween is one of my favorite days.

In spoopy news for me, I watched the 04 remake of Dawn of the Dead, the 05 version of Land of the Dead, and re watched Dude Of the Living dead.

Loved 04 Dawn of the Dead and Land Of the Dead was ok.

I got it on VHS when it was first broadcast on Teletoon and rewatching it along with the original adds gave me a nostalgia wave.

I wish I liked Halloween when I was a kid.

Had a Rewatch of Rugrats Curse of the Werewuff, because that was the rugrats Halloween episode I saw when I was a kid. It's supposed to be better than the earlier one except for retconning the first special. BTW, some of the character designs resembled Mona The Vampire characters/villains. Any production overlap there? It's possible Mona just imitated rugrats art-style as it aired at the height of rugrats popularity.

I also saw the original Night Of The Living Dead.

I noticed last week, by accident, I had a black and white movie week (with 1 exception: Beetlejuice). This week I'm doing a very deliberate aliens and space theme, although I've taken a break from watching predator today.

Thank you for reminding me of Bogleech; dude's website is an absolute treasure. Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love the aesthetics, the history of it and the creative element, and I like the versatility of a major holiday that can be cute, gruesome, campy and/or mystical at the same time. However, I'm too old to go trick or treating, too young to buy alcohol (by a few months at this point) and allergic to all commercially-produced candy. I do plan on at least watching Nosferatu, reading The Lurker on the Threshold and putting together a costume as the specter of communism (because if there's two things you can expect from me, it's strident leftism and puns).
