Halloween Thread 2016 Part II

Postby Tokuopolis » Wed Oct 05, 2016 11:21 am

Hello NSA&F! It's that time of year again. I'm unsure whether to put it here or in the general thread, so if anyone thinks it would be better there, just suggest it. Since other people have started Halloween stuff, it seems good to start here.

Rules:

1. Keep it PG-13 or below(in terms of descriptions).

2. The topic can be about almost anything monster/horror related, from toys to Movies to Biology, from mythology to Video games to Cryptozoology, to music. Basically, anything discussed on this website or this website is fair game. Try to keep it on topic, please.

3. This is not a RPing forum (either IC or OOC), neither is it your blog.

4. Talking about events and holidays around/similar to halloween (e.g. Dia De Los Muertos, Samhain,Nightmare Night) is fine, as long as you keep it within a cultural and literature/media-related context.

5. No debates about halloween and religion or about "racist halloween costumes" or the like. Make a thread on general if you wanna talk about those.

With that said, let's begin!

I don't normally do anything for Halloween since I don't see the point but I might dress up as the scariest thing I can think of just for fun.

As for actual topic, favorite kinds of zombies everyone? Personally, I prefer the Romero-style that will kill you, but humanity still has a chance of survival.

Is it the spoopy time of year again?

Cool!

This year, we are going to decorate less but I will be in costume! I was going to last year but I kind of was rushed and didn't have time to put on my costume. :(

This year...there will be me in a tutu...

Damn trick or treaters better stay off my lawn when the time comes.

I'm going to hoard butterfingers in my house and eat them while binge watching Netflix and wallowing in my own shame.

Brace yourselves, the British Winter Y2K 2012 the skeleton war is coming

It's a bit of a downer I can't trick-or-treat anymore, I lack the creativity to make my own costume and too cheap to get a discount one. I have to buy assloads of candy and binge them in a fit of existential angst like a normal adult would :(

Kidding, I'm actually not a big fan of candy. Still, out of all the months, October is my favorite, Halloween/Gothic vibes for days man.

Not my style, but I still could conjure up something from scratch. Literally a cape and a mask and BOOM, free candy, provided no one gets suspicious of a grown man walking among myriads of children.

Plan on making a Tron costume made of a morph suit, some leather-like material (durability wise), and some lighting for it.

Hmm. I'll probably eat pie and candy, and watch Buffy episodes.

Not sure if I'll do anything else. I'm not much of a party person, and their's not much else for adults to do on Halloween.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

Not even hangout with friends or play scary games like Outlast?

Eh, most of my friends live in other places right now.

But weather with friends or alone, my usual Halloween tradition involves watching spooky movies/tv shows and eating junk food. And carving pumpkins, of course. You're never too old for that.

I'm not a big horror fan, so my old Halloween movie of choices was Batman Begins (it actually works fairly well as a Halloween movie, with the fear theme and the Batman/Scarecrow costumes).

Then I discovered Buffy, so that's my new go-to.

Yeah, I started watching Horror and Monster movies around Halloween as I felt I was too old to do trick or treating. I've got plenty of films and Tv shows for this year.
