I thought that would be right up my alley, but somehow it was uncompelling for me and I put it on pause during second episode.

I have to agree with you on that point, I did the same, and have only just gone back to it. It has lots of funny moments and references, but seems to think that is all it needs, as it feels lacking in substance.

I still have too many series to go back into that. lol

I can't quite point why, but there's something about Yakumo that made me think that there's some sort of undercover retro flair in facade of that otherwise contemporary looking artstyle but I'm not quite sure what.

The movie Redline (Red Line?). Older Japanese animation and very epic. Finished all of JoJos and must say that part 5 wasn't my fav part, not as good as 3 or 4 in my opinion. Been meaning to finish Kaiji Ultimate Survivor for a while now.

What is PBDC and how do I avoid it? Is this something made up in your mind or did the anime be explicit?

If it's just tomboy being a tomboy I have no problem with. It's probably just that. I don't keep up with anime and I rather not if this is the kind of crowd that it attracts.

One, she's not a tomboy at all. She's in disguise because
her super eyesight spotted a secret satellite getting shot down by a nuke, and she's hiding as a guy from some nefarious government group.
And two, what do you mean by "The kind of crowd"? It's 2021, pal. Get over it.

It means take your transphobic BS elsewhere. No one wants it here.

>has a signature about people "harassing" them for being transphobic/homophobic
>goes into a thread, first comment is a transphobic comment

The victim mentality, my goodness. What the heck are we supposed to say to that? "Yeah there's no gross trans people in this anime"? Maybe don't open a comment with "fucking trans people are fucking gross I hate them haha anyway what's this anime about?"

Anyway... I honestly don't know how to feel about Redo of a Healer beyond it being boring pulp trash.

On the one hand, I don't kink-shame, and I can kind of relate to the struggles of the writer... On the other, without any of the shock shlock, it's a pretty empty story.

I think the person who wrote it is just not a very good writer.

Plot holes aren't the kind of holes the writer or their audience is interested in.

Oy vey, hentai. =3=

What I don't get is, yeah, why wasn't this just that.

Granted, Ishuzoku Reviewers was a thing, but Ishuzoku actually had passable stories and themes and good characters and comedy.

Meanwhile, crap like this like SAO and GATE and My Little Monster gets a pass because they're "dramas".

It does tickle me that Funimation dropped Interspecies Reviewers for being too smutty, but fully licensed and even dubbed Valkyrie Drive Mermaid. Which was basically softcore lesbian hentai with a meager bit of plot and drama thrown in.

The censors enjoy lesbian fish I suppose.

What's worse, imo, everyone in Ishuzoku Reviewers is a cinnamon roll. Everyone's consenting and they're all morally good people. I can't really say the same for a good chunk of isekai protags.

Seeing as how I get into everything very late, I have heard good things of Honzuki no Gekokujō now that we're talking about isekai...and how conversations about Lymee or Mikly are a no-no.

... Speaking of weird anime.

What the fuck is up with the Hololive anime.

Are the girls themselves writing the episodes like wtf.

I don't know, the episode with the sentient sex dolls seemed a little morally gray to me.

Were the dolls sentient? I dunno if that has ever been established, I thought they were just animated golems. Actual sentient golems/rock people are a separate race. I thought it was a similar thing to the Grand Mage plotline. Are all of those Grand Mages different, sentient people? No, they're just projections of their original. My guess is the dolls are disposable and non-sentient.

When do they become sentient if you have to make the doll yourself?

Now if you mean because they made it in Meidri's image, yeah, little sus, but that joke is easily the least funny one in the whole series. It's literally the old "female character physically assaults the male characters for being HENTAI" trope.

Admittedly, the protag of Ishuzoku for me is the angel. The other guys don't get as much characterization and what is there makes them come off as total bro-douches, and I'm kinda surprised they haven't made the joke of them being reviewed themselves by women or something.

Maybe that will be the last punchline? The series hasn't concluded and frankly my guess is the writer is under a lot of pressure to make jokes Japanese audiences like, let alone jokes that are universal.
