The third season of Psycho-Pass felt like the opposite of the second. Psycho-Pass 2 had interesting themes, but largely boring and/or one-dimensional characters. Psycho-Pass 3 had well-written characters, but was not very deep.

First Inspector was also quite good overall - probably the best Psycho-Pass has been since Season 1, and I couldn't have asked for a better wrap-up to Season 3.

Started Mitsuboshi Colors on random. Somehow it feels wrong that main characters are color coded that way despite not being triplets, but I guess that's some sort of Disney conditioning on my part.

Rewatching Cells at Work before the Season 2 comes out

I came across this one infamous scene from 20+ years ago and decided to try re-watching it. I have to say, it sucks. Gundam Wing has nostalgia going for it because it was the first major Gundam series in the franchise to see an English dub but the story itself just doesn't hold up. I have no choice but to conclude that its a hot mess. The main cast doesn't really do anything important and it meanders from one scene to the next and has so many plot holes and is nonsensical for the most part.

The show has some cool Gundam designs but it reuses scenes that don't need to be reused. Very stale and boring. Drags on, and the main cast I don't like too much asides from Duo Maxwell. Zechs and Trieze (what they're doing) has more of my attention than any of the actual mains.

Giant robots of warfare are cool (for those who like that) but it has to be said that not all Gundam series are worth watching. Not all are of equal merit in terms of story. I can only recommend Gundam Wing for the lulz. It feels like something meant for 30 episodes that has made into 49 episodes instead. Awful, just terrible.

I agree that Gundam Wing is way too long, but I don't think it's quite as awful as you put it. Sure, it's nowhere as good as the 8th MS Team, but I think it has its charm.

I have just finished the first season of Kaguya-Sama: Love is War, which reminded me very strongly of a role-reversed Kaichou wa Maid-Sama - a wealthy, privileged, exceptionally gifted yet isolated and socially awkward person who has fallen for an intelligent workaholic student council president who has to work part-time to support their family, and is part of a proportionally small minority group within the school. Kaguya-Sama does not have as strong stalker vibes fortunately, though they are definitely there in the preparations of some of her plans. Overall I enjoyed it, and though the ending felt very cheap, I did not mind as much as I knew that there was a second season. My only gripe is that no real progress has been made in the series so far, but that is not uncommon in romance anime, and even less so in romantic comedy.

I love obscure bad anime. I love it. Watching obscure bad anime is equal parts a murder mystery, a history lesson, and of course, amazing comedy. Who did this, and why? Why like this?

In particular, one anime has been baffling me. It is an 80s OVA called Blue Flames. It starts out normally enough, a student boy with a normal family, little sister included, in love with one girl. But then it turns out that this anime is either genius or awful, because this boy turns every anime protagonist on it's ass by being the most villainous motherfucker ever. A misogynist, a manipulator, a borderline sociopath, he sleeps with this girl he likes to make her pregnant and blackmail her wealthy family... And then it is revealed he has his own girlfriend and he hates his family and his dream was to go to the city and become an even bigger, wealthier dirtbag.

I honestly don't know what to think of it, because, like I said, it could be a satire of anime while also being the perfect exemplar of awful anime storytelling, either glorifying or exposing the sociopathy of someone who thinks they are a protagonist.
