That Interspeices Reviewers show has to be the crassest, most lowbrow anime I've seen in ages...which makes me ashamed that I laughed...quite a few times.

It knows what it is, and it runs with it. Almost admirable. Curious how they managed to get full on, no pixelated V past those Japanese censors...

oh shoot thats out I read the manga a little while ago, and found it hilarious that it was actually getting an anime.

That aside I have just started watching Welcome to the Demon School Iruma-Kun and the Nekopara TV anime.

Just finished Planetes for the first time a little while ago. TLDR, it's what you'd get if Cowboy Bebop and The Expanse had a kid. So it's pretty much my dream anime.

It's a turn-of-the-millennium anime set in 2075. Space within the Earth-Moon system has been commercialized and there are extensive lunar colonies. Unfortunately, things aren't all rainbows and sunshine - down on Earth, the wealth gap between first and third world countries is growing wider by the day thanks to cheap resources from space, and INTO - a horrifically overempowered, ultra-corrupt version of the UN - isn't helping.

Up in orbit, debris from a variety of sources poses a continual threat to the ships and stations responsible for keeping Earth running. This is where our characters come in. They're a motley crew of orbital debris collectors - an important job, to be sure, but vastly underappreciated and ridiculed by everyone else in their corporation.

It starts out as slice-of-life but slowly broadens its scope. The show focuses on two people, but all the characters are extremely well done, and most of the important ones get a whole episode dedicated to backstory and development. The show also doesn't leave its side characters behind, fleshing them out and giving them screentime in multiple episodes. It also gets brownie points from me for actually trying to get some of the physics and science right.

Go watch it. You won't regret it.

I'm watching this Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga show. Basically a bunch of Sengoku era warlords reincarnated as dogs. And got quite a giggle when I noticed this Takeda Shingen...

I'm in the process of rewatching CLANNAD. I haven't watched it in years, it's as good as I remember.

I've also recently rewatched Kaichou wa Maid-sama, another good one, and currently rereading the manga.

Ah, I enjoyed Kaichou wa Maid-sama. It has its iffy moments, but its characters are stellar.

I just finished A Place Further Than the Universe, which was superb, and Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest, which greatly annoyed me. It was so close to being amazing, with a solid plot, great visual design for the world, brilliant main character and engaging introductory episode. Sadly, the writer could not keep their inner hormonal teenage boy in check, and it is one of the worst I have seen (that are not romances) in terms of its perversion. It had awful CGI as well, but that is forgivable for anime.

A Place Further Than the Universe though? Absolutely sublime.

Tonight at the uni anime society we watched all new things. I really liked Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken, and I'll probably watch more In/Spectre and ID: Invaded as well at some point. Somali and the Forest Spirit and Science Fell in Love So I Tried to Prove It didn't really grab me. Nekopara wins the seasonal prize for moral repugnancy.

FLCL's probably the worst thing I'll ever describe as a must watch. Like, it's fucking self indulgent nonsense, but it's unique and interesting fucking self indulgent nonsense, and somehow really evocative of the early 2000s when it was released.

Shock as repeatedly acclaimed director delivers good series. The man's got a hell of a resume.

Finally saw Gundam Narrative after a year of it being out because movies take longer to get to the West than shows or OVA's do. Oh look, another Gundam series better than IBO.

Yes, I'm still annoyed at IBO holding the top spot for highest rated non-OVA Gundam series on a ton of anime sites.

People just whine about IBO because it was the same different to previous versions of the show. At least people watched it, which can't exactly be said for Sunrise's increasingly irrelevant fucking about in the Universal Century.

lol, IBO apes a ton of shit from the UC, it's just done worse because IBO was horribly written. A group of child make-shift soldiers commandeer a space ship in order to fight in a battle that's way over their fucking heads. At least in most other Gundam series there's only a couple of child soldiers or distance themselves enough from MSG 79 to seem original.

Also, Hathaway's Flash is getting a movie series and Gundam The Origin and Thunderbolt has gotten a lot of people into the UC, IBO got a mobile game. Try again~

Hint: I don't hate IBO because it's different, I hate it because it's awful.
