Is Hellsing a good series to watch? In another thread I found a link leading to a brutally destructive scene from an episode of Hellsing Ultimate, so my interest is piqued.

I watched Hellsing Ultimate abridge and probably couldn't take it series "proper" seriously anymore.
Also I guess abridged might've coloured my judgement, but I'm still not sure of series proper is supposed to be serious or if it's over the top dark comedy.

The original Hellsing anime is all right, but it's plot deviates significantly after the early episodes. Hellsing Ultimate earned its sobriquet.

Original? No. Ultimate? Yes.

The original cuts off halfway through leading to a disappointing anime only ending, while Ultimate adapts the full series into a series of OVA movies (A la Gundam Unicorn) and is fucking bonkers.

Why not both?

Sounds like I should give Ultimate a try, then.

It took me a few years of off and on viewing (waited for the English dub to finish) but I finally finished all of Naruto Shippuden. Including all movies and OVAs. Fantastic story, but a bit too long and drawn out and boring in some parts. Some of the filler is good but most of it isn't good or doesn't need to exist. Before that, I viewed everything pertaining to original Naruto.

My main complaint would be that it has tons of flashbacks that're actually repeat scenes and thus, don't need to happen. It treats the audience like it'll forget something.

Boruto isn't nearly as good, but maybe I'll attempt it.

I must admit that DanMachi II has exceeded all of my expectations by a wide margin, so far. It actually might restore my faith in J.C. Staff, which was crumbling for several years now and totally lost when they butchered To Aru Majutsu no Index's and Date a Live's third seasons (two of my favorite series).

Okay, admittedly my expectations aren't really that high, and it may still go downhill for the remaining episodes, but it won't matter. It has already earned a spot in my personal "Favorites of 2019" list.

Got around watching FMA on Netflix and I'm left wondering why Homonculi names are rendered in English on Finnish sub, but I guess it's because they were Kana renditions of English words in first place (I guess).

If I had to guess what Full Metal Alchemist was based on music from first OP song, my guess would’ve been that it’s sitcom or soap opera set on some tropical resort.

I feel like foreknowledge of that certain scene paints this experience in certain way.
Like dread of an oracle whose come aboard a ship that gonna sink, but they don't know exact moment.

Decided to update anilist

Me: Cardcaptor Sakura is a nice wholesome show with absolutely nothing weird going o-
Cardcaptor Sakura: Sakura's mother was 16 when she married Sakura's father. And he was her teacher.
Me: I'm just going to pretend I didn't hear that.

Same thing happened in Hanamaru Kindergarten. Except the teacher knocked her up first and ran off to America with her.

I love analyzing different animes through a Red Pill lens. Naruto Shippuden is very Red Pilled, so I like the hidden truths it displayed via different characters and their actions.

Sasuke Uchiha is a "slayer" in that he could sleep with most any women he wants to via finding seduction to be relatively easy combined with his good looks.
Other facts about Sasuke: Very Dark triad, Low inhibitions, was insane, prime women want him even if he abuses or almost kills them.

Lets contrast this with Naruto, who is a Beta Orbiter. Tries hard, women generally aren't attracted to him at first, he saves Sakura countless times but she still wants Sasuke over him. But on the bright side, he did manage to pull in and keep a woman who appreciated him and his qualities more.

Obito Uchiha, he's the most like a "Supreme Gentleman" out of everyone in the show.
His facts: Got cucked/diminished by the better looking Kakashi, went Elliot Rodger after his crush was killed.

Do people have other animes they could recommend that can be looked at through a more "Manosphere" lens?

Vinland Saga really nailed it with Thorkell's VA. That is exactly how I pictured him sounding when I read the manga.

Yeah, Fate/Zero, it's about how your toxic fascistic hero fantasies are totally unproductive.

Kill La Kill. It’s a fantastic action anime (pretty ecchi so younglings beware) with an awesome female protagonist. I really loved it. It’s made by Studio Trigger who would go on to make Little Witch Academia and Darling in the Franxx (all very different shows) if you need a reference on their works. It’s got a cool, unique art style and many lovable hero’s and villains. 10/10 would recommend.

Yes. It's a complete mess but you will never watch anything else like it.

Yes--the only Eva "worth watching" is the original + EoE.
