I think it would be best if you just put everyone on your ignore list. That way you won't have to worry about people disagreeing with you. Or perhaps everyone else should just put you on their ignore list. Same result, I suppose.

She is celibate, but doesn't want to be. But then again, I can't really see her identifying enough with that group online to embrace that label, from what I've seen of the manga. But there is no definitive answer either way, other than that she exhibits a lot of similarities. Probably why 4chan likes her so much. Tomoko is the favorite waifu of many a basement dweller.

I don't think so, because Tomoko is actually quite optimistic. She actually believes she can change, even if her attempts end in disaster.

Teenagers are hormonal idiots who barely think in advance and exaggerate minor things. Tomoko's social ineptitude and nerdiness is only part of the equation.

They've been documented for years now. These are people with series mental health issues (As being a hikikomori requires 6 months of isolation, which most meet), they're not just geeks with no social life.
