Turning Girls aka how can we put in less effort the we did for inferno cop? A.k.a "hey girls in the office whose jobs such as cleaning do not involve animation, make us an anime." It's a wonderful thing, even more so the fact the production comitee wants them to do another season.

1.) A meaningless insult meant to excuse your disdain for a series that isn't SoL-tier comfy.
2.) That one anime in the season which tries too hard to be dark. Or it doesn't try hard enough that it turns back in on itself and becomes AOTS.

You have to keep in mind that literally none of the people who made it had any experience actually making anime. They literally just grabbed all the women in the office whose jobs did not involve the actual production of shows like secretaries and the janitor then told them to get cracking.

Inferno cop was an experiment in how little effort they could put into a show. The animation staff spent around two hours a week on Inferno Cop, Turning girls was that taken to its ultimate conclusion, having the animation staff work zero hours a week on a show. A brilliant move in my humble opinion.

Did it really try? I know Ryuuko and KLK in general was considered edgy but it never really struck me as trying to be dark. The comedy, ridiculous gags, fanservice and stripperific Ryuuko herself all made me think that things were meant to be half-serious. And even if things may have tried go be more serious later on, by the end of it Ryuuko seemed to have lost a lot of edge.

I like how that show doesn't do what so many school club type shows do. They treat it as a hobby, not some all-consuming aspect of life.
