Good thing I don't use Crunchyroll. Used to lurk on the forums years ago, but that's about it.

They hijacked the web address, which knocked the site out for a few hours, and forcibly downloaded a really shitty and obvious trojan onto all site visitors PCs. This trojan was so fucking basic that Windows knew it was malware, and if Windows knows something's malware it won't let you run it unless you explicitly change some permissions in the malware's properties. Nobody is getting infected from that.

Did someone say One Punch Man or Hayao Miyazaki?

I think we should all discuss Hayao Miyazaki's works and One Punch Man.

So what did you guys think of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, (Kaze no Tani no Nausicaa)?

I saw it not so long ago and kind of enjoyed it. It has a very unique art style that studio ghibli are well known for now which I enjoyed.
It has a lot of really neat fantastical elements that make the story enjoyable yet not so far fetched to be considered alien.

I was referring to the off hand "the manga is better" response which totally shuts down all discussion of the anime.

You throw out any discussion about an anime and someone will chime in with that stupid phrase and any discussion just goes away as if the anime wasn't made at all.

I mean seriously, so much interesting stuff happens in the manga, the movie cut out the Doroks, and it portrays interesting locations and technology, like.

Eh, it's OK as a movie...eh, I prefer Catsle in the Sky as an adventure. Though in all seriousness what would you consider far-fetched if a post-apocalyptic world with giant rolly-pollies, genetically engineered giant monsters, and flying super-fortresses isn't that far-fetched by your standards? Or are you considering the fictional world's logic or laws of reality to be like IRL?

I know the first anime which I considered very far-fetched was Fantastic Children; mostly cause it seemed to copy Wilhelm Reich's psychoanalysis and crank UFO theories. Then again I remember the first time somebody told me about what Sailor Moon was I thought the same. Y'know, trans-dimensional aliens, reincarnation and stuff? That seemed wacky.

TBH, the first half was slow and plotting, but it get's unbelievably better halfway through.

Used the random button on crunchyroll.

I don't know what I expected.

Yeah castle in the sky was pretty good. Was that the one with the garden rake transforming into a prince at some point?
I suppose I do have a generous definition of normal. I could see flying fortresses being a thing at some point in the distant future.
Saw Castle in the sky and nausicaa with family. My younger sister hated them. Not enough logical explanations for what was going on for her.

I usually think of far fetched in comedy terms, when a character reacts in a way that just shouldn't happen like Arakawa under the bridge. That is full of bizarre characters. I think Shaft were having a fun time with odd characters after getting a taste for it in bakemonogatari.
Or Gintama which is a giant reference factory.

Aliens yep wacky. Can't get more alien than an alien.
Alternate dimension stuff. I'm pretty used to it now but somewhere between wacky and normal for me because many of the alternate dimension stuff is just slight alterations of what we have in our own one. At least of the stuff that i've seen.
I suppose there's a limit to being able to think of alien concepts in our world when all we know is...our world. And when there are shows that attempt to show alien stuff it's usually "oooOOOooooHHH scary crazy lights!"
Reincarnation, i'm used to seeing it in lots of fantasy media. Very Normal. Soooo normal.

How would it compare to some similar shows?
