RWBY is debatable. Despite being an American series, i hear it’s popular in Japan, and there is a manga in the works, and I think the mangaka may be Japanese.

I just saw the new Kino’s Journey and a I was quite impressed with the first episode. I love the original Kino’s Journey and think it’s perfect, but this one hasn’t disappointed me so far, though it’s only the first episode. The art style is going to take some getting used to. It’s not bad, it’s just not something I associate with Kino’s Journey.

Makes sense I suppose. For me I never preferred to define anime as needing to originate from Japan, as it makes more sense to be defined as a style of animation rather than where it was produced. I know it's unpopular to d so but I often consider propeties like Avatar the Last Airbender and the Original Teen Titans series to be anime as well.

Really hoping they don't have any of the cg crap in the next Overlord season, one way ticket to a shit action scene in my opinion.

We watched the first episode of The Ancient Magus's Bride at Anime Society. I enjoyed it, will probably follow it this season.

We watched a few other first episodes from new shows from this season but none really captured my interest.
Land of the Lustrous was basically fine, but didn't seem like it would turn into anything more interesting.
Juuni Taisen was a stupidly edgy death game thing, which isn't what I'm into at all.
Inuyashiki was too downbeat for my tastes.
Recovery of an MMO Junkie was just a generic and boring rom-com.
Just Because seemed alright, but was very, very slow.

So, been playing a VN I bought off the Nintendo Eshop on a whim (It was on sale, so I didn't waste all my money).

It's a romance one, and the choice between a downright abusive cunt and someone who just wants to have a loving relationship is apparently a pretty fucking difficult one.

Juuni Taisen's idea seems to be to kill off the most interesting characters first. Having watched episode 3, I'm definitely dropping it now.

Pretty star studded to-watch list there, curious why you like plastic memories enough to give it a high score. Haven't seen it myself.

Been watching Samurai Champloo. I thought it was good ar first, but I’m farting to get tired of it. I like the premise, but it seems to be mostly episodic with little progression towards the plot, and I just don’t think it needs to be (26?) episodes.

Eh, I wouldn't call it romance. More slice-of-life. But yes, they are not stingy with the affection. Also, they're all girls. It's yuritastic.
