Clearly "watching series, regardless of its quality or other content, because it stars your countryman" is perfectly valid reasoning.

One reason I've avoided Danganronpa is that the premise involves killing off most of the characters, including one particular one I learned about whilst doing my usual searching for trap pics.

I know. But I thought it might feel funny to someone who's nationality has greater presence. And because I am still not sure if "Finland Mentioned!" meme is starting to wear out. :P

Clearly it's time to check Akiba's Trip because of Finnish/Half-Finnish character.

The other comics shop in town has K-On! on DVD, but I'm not quite desperate enough to pay £25 for it. Yet. I'm getting Samurai Champloo off of one of my friends next week, so that should be fun.

I use Kodomo no Jikan because a small number of people have watched and enjoyed that show.

Try Koi Kaze. No fanservice or over-the-top-drama, but it's modest realism makes the spectator feel icky for participating. And because it points the MC to the threat of realistic consequences...y'know...like disgusting society and a coworker threatening to call child services. Sucks too, cause I was rooting for the coworker.

I sat through "Gundam Iron-blooded orphans" despite having given up twice along the way but the ending did what I more or less expected it to, which was oddly satisfying.

Well, I had no idea about that when I started it. Poor me actually thought that like in most games, you could make decisions that could save and kill characters. I had no idea that it had a linear plot that you can't stop.

And since I especially get really attached to characters.. it's been pretty sad. But the series in itself is amazing. I've spent seven hours yesterday, just playing the first game.

Yeah, Chihiro. He was my second favorite character. Though, learning that she was indeed a he was pretty surprising. I never imagined that Chihiro was a boy. But well, even like that, he remains one of my favorite characters. And his death was so sad.. I never would have imagined that anyone would have killed him.

So I really enjoyed seeing the bastard that did it executed for the crime.

My favorite favorite character was Sayaka, though.
