I've only watched (and actively enjoyed) two anime's, and one of them i'm not entirely sure is an anime. The first one is Attack on Titan, where I have watched the first season twice over. Its a great show, and if you haven't watched it, do it now. The other anime is One Punch Man, from Adult Swim. While i'm not 100% if the show qualifies as an anime, its a great show nonetheless.

One Punch Man is merely distributed in the west by Adult Swim.

3) And the orchestration of Penny's murder and the broadcast hijack fit in... how?

Also in Volume 1 Roman steals barely any dust.
In Volume 2 he has what appears to be a majority stake in all of the world's dust in his warehouse.

1) I don't recall that scene well enough to comment.

Pyrrha mentions fighting murderers. This never happened to JNPR.

2) Vale stands for hundreds of years without being attacked. In what way is being attacked not a failure? Yes, it ended quickly, but that's irrelevant. It's still a sign of weakness.

If it's not being attacked, nobody could really be said to be protecting it. When it was attacked, the attack was ended almost instantly. What more were Vale supposed to do?

3) Did you not listen to her speech? She was trying to pin the blame on Ozpin to claim that it was a response to the Atlas army being parked on his doorstep. She was inciting tension between the kingdoms.

Because taking control of Atlas's automated defences and storming the area with an invasion force apparently wasn't enough.

4) It's called "things happening off screen." We are told that there have been tons of dust robberies, and then we see Roman with mountains of dust. I mean this, this is basic story comprehension here. Why do I need to explain it?

In that case, why did we watch Roman fail to steal dust at all? What was the point of him failing if he was going to succeed anyway when we weren't watching? What are the writers smoking?

Oh, and why do all the COMBAT SCHOOL STUDENTS panic and evacuate in Volume 3 during the attack?

What the fuck have they been learning?

Because they're students thrust into a war zone. They're not exactly ready. Also, that was never what they signed up for. There are big differences between adventuring and war.

All of them, with the exception of the plot relevant characters, immediately evacuated/panicked/broke down. Not one person we've not seen before was involved. Heck, not even all of the other tournament competitors were involved.

Also, how on earth do high stakes televised sporting events with significant peril and audience investment make sense in a world where negative emotions can cause you to die? Why put 75% of the global population at risk?

Are you being intentionally obtuse, or do you seriously not get it? The entire point of the Huntsmen and Huntresses is that they go out and fight the Grimm. They protect the people. That's their purpose. If the Grimm are attacking the kingdom, that means they've failed. Like, we're you asleep for half the show?.

No. It wasn't. There needs to be escalation of action or it'll come off as forced and engineered. There also needs to be something to fault Vale for so that the conflict isn't one sided. The invasion makes Atlas look bad, but there needs to be something before that so that Vale looks bad, too.

Holy fucking shit. This can't be real. You can't be seriously questioning this right now. Like, what the fuck. Do you just not understand how fucking stories work? Okay, then. I'll suppose I'll explain this for you.

The first scene establishes several things. It introduces several characters, most notably Roman and Ruby and their shared, antagonistic relationship. It also shows Ruby's skill, but she ultimately fails because she's not perfect yet. This is, of course, necessary to get her into Beacon two years early. However, Roman can't win because then he'd just kill Ruby. Thus, the plot demands that he lose this one time. However, he has to win off screen because otherwise there is no threat from the villain.

The second fight in the volume one finale is, again, there for a multitude of reasons. Mostly, it's there to reintroduce Roman so that we don't forget about him. Again, though, he can't win because then the show loses most of its main characters. It also ends the volume on a high note.

You seem to think, however, that these two failures combined with his off screen successes is some sort of contradiction that rips open a huge plot hole. I seem to think that the only hole here is the ass you're talking out of. The reason Roman wins off screen is because the big time heroes who stopped him before aren't around. Like, how is that not obvious? If the protagonists weren't there in the first and last episodes, Roman would have won. Since they weren't there in the off screen robberies, he did win. Roman doesn't have to always fail just because he failed twice. That's fucking stupid.

Because it would have made far more sense, obviously, for them to introduce tons of new characters out of the blue in the middle of the climactic final battle. That makes sense. That's good writing there. Oh, wait, no. Nevermind. That's horrible writing, and you should be ashamed of yourself for suggesting it. We only see the characters we've already seen because those are the ones we've already seen.

Man, it's always so fun when my opponent's argument is so goddamn stupid that I can legitimately use redundant statements. No, no it's not.

Also, how on earth do high stakes televised sporting events with significant peril and audience investment make sense in a world where negative emotions can cause you to die? Why put 75% of the global population at risk?

Because it's not high stakes, and there is no peril. All the combatants are protected by their auras. Fuck. This was a major plot point introduced in the first goddamn season. It was the single most blatant display of an exposition dump in the entire show, and you still missed it. I'm seriously convinced that you didn't actually watch the show and just skimmed the plot summary on Wikipedia or something.

I finished the Black Lagoon OVA.
I personally wasn't a fan of Roberta in the main series that much, and she is an example of what my only big gripe with the show. That some of the characters were just too absurd and taken a bit too seriously for the series. The teenage yakuza boss in the last arc of the main show was the worst offender when in came to this.
Blood Trail balanced this out by having Roberta strung out on ritalin and painkillers and punching through people's skulls.

The main issue with the OVA is that Rock just becomes a really confusing character. He spends a lot of time brooding over his master plan that makes it seem like he's trying to usurp Chang. And he acts towards other people and the audience in a way that would suggest this. And what you know about the plan suggests this. But he was trying to save the NSA, Roberta, and the boy? And ended up not changing anything in the city? But maybe I just misread those flashbacks of Balalaika threatening to kill him. In Jormungand, when my waifu, Koko Hekmatyar, becomes a bond villain it makes sense. Based on what you know about her from the previous season, her occupation, and her goals. But Rock wasn't doing that any scheming in the main show, so his behavior in the OVA kind of comes out of nowhere. Yes the result seems like something Rock would want, but his methods don't match the character.

Calling RWBY anime is like calling Taco Bell mexican food.
Yes it has definite foreign influences. But the final product is regrettably American.

Oh, I knew the designs of Wolf's Rain looked familiar, they were made by the same person who did Cowboy Bebop's and Gundam's (0083 and 8th MS Team) designs.

You'd better believe I'm a bitter Bernie Sanders supporter. The Dems fucked up and fucked up hard. Hopefully they'll learn that neoliberalism and maintaining the status quo isn't the way to win this election or any other one. I doubt they will, though.

Nope if only they can get rid of the fuckwit they call Mikazuki, then I might not consider IBO the worst Gundam series.
