Feels weird when character who is wearing fake cat ears isn't one with catgirl speech impediment

I am the opposite. I heard a lot of hoopla about this thing, and after a few episodes, I find it really dull. I don't think it needed to be an hour long an episode.

SEED Destiny:

It might actually be way worse than SEED, but it has Shinn (and to an extent Durandal), so it’s enjoyable much more often.

Shinn is the only actually good part of SEED and it’s a shame how little screen time he gets for the for the first and last parts of the series. He’s an oasis. People complain about his bad attitude, but it’s entirely deserved when he’s dealing with SEED characters who don’t seem to understand anything about the situation they’re in. He’s the only reasonable person in a show full of insane pseudo-pacifists who would rather prolong a war than fight for any kind of purpose.

If I were in charge of Orb, I would cooperate with the people trying to arrest KKK Hitler. I do not think that Mr. Adolf Hitler, leader of the KKK, which is subordinate to the KKK Cabal, which has enabled severe war crimes across the globe, should be allowed any chance to escape with his military.

I remember S1 of "Standing on a million lives" being always on level of "going through the motions" level on interest while I watched it and somehow S2 made me invested enough that lack of animation quality started to piss me off

I know I should've gotten used to looks of anime characters not lining up with their ages but I still had the "what do you mean main cast are supposed to be 19" reaction

Gundam 00: Very good. Probably my third favorite AU (including Turn-A). I dunno, I’ll have to sit on the ending and movie. The movie is alright but… unsubtle.
A big and very likable cast is its greatest strength.
“I am Gundam.”

Unicorn: I didn’t like it as much as most people do. It’s very pretty. There’s bits that I like. But it feels like it doesn’t really want to grapple with the setting or its place in the timeline.
It’s hard to get into why without writing an essay about Universal Century. So…
Char was right.

Sangokuden: It’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms for kids, and Lu Bu is a Tallgeese. It’s pretty sick. Some of those deaths are brutal. Fun watch.

Build Beginning G (the 3-part special): Boris is cool. He has a horse.

Azur Lane: The Animation (2019)

Review: Okay, I've been playing Azur Lane for a while, and the first anime isn't very good. Indeed, there is a lot of fanservice, particularly in episode 6, which is essentially a filler episode. However, if you can get beyond the fanservice, the anime isn't all that horrible. However, I think a lot of things were missed or done incorrectly. leaving me feeling incredibly let down after seeing it. Without disrespect to the writers, animators, and other creatives who put a lot of effort into the anime, it just seems like it was only made in the first place to make some fast cash. They could have done so much more with it, in my opinion.

Not surprising. Most anime adaptations, especially of video games, pretty much serve as glorified advertisements for their source material, after all.

I started watching Samurai Champloo in the past week or so. The music is absolute beast, as expected when you have Nujabes as one of the show's composers (as a sidenote, Samurai Champloo's music goes surprisingly well with Baldur's Gate 3 if you ever think about mixing the two). It's much more comedic than Bebop, so if you go in expecting it to be Bebop IN TOKUGAWA JAPAN you'll most likely be disappointed. So far the Misguided Miscreant two-parter and the one with the Dutch weeaboo are my favorite episodes.

Gundam AGE was ehhhh. I liked the middle part and most of the last part, but the first part was ehhhh while the ending was downright disappointing.
A low-tier Gundam, and a shame too. They found something suddenly, and just as quickly forgot it.

Build Fighters was rad. I liked it way more than I thought I would (which, to be fair, was “good enough to get through”). It was very cute and very fun, with just the right amount of Gundam fanservice for me to be nostalgic about shows I watched, like, 6 months ago.
Don’t get it twisted, either. It more than stands on its own with funny bits, likable characters, and a lot of fun fights. It’s simply the best it possibly could’ve been.
