Did you manage to finish it? I'd like to hear what you thought of it, it's one of my favorite series

The first version I watched was the 2012-2013 film trilogy, quite a few years ago. I got absolutely hooked on the story, and its ambience and tone, so I planned on reading the manga, but lack of time and money were an obstacle. Years passed, and I still got almost obsessed by Miura's art, until recently I found the 1997 TV series on Netflix, which I enjoyed as well.

And shortly before finishing these series, I discovered that the Catalan translation of the entire manga is being published for the first time, starting the past June (Maximum Berserk format; 20 volumes). I can't be happier.

And yeah, the manga's quality and magic has never been surpassed by the anime adaptations.

I agree, the manga is magic. I've been looking for something with a similar quality of art and storytelling. Someone I know suggested Vagabond, but I haven't had time to check it out

vagabond is great, but permanently unfinished. fist of the north star is also really great, and if you're into video games then god of war is basically just a western version of berserk.

That's sad to hear Vagabond is incomplete. I will have to look into Fist of the North Star. iirc it was an inspiration for a lot of modern animes?

Besides Frieren and Apothecary Diaries which will keep airing throughout Winter 2024, are there any good animes airing in that season?

Currently watching Shield Hero 3rd season. Overall the series is doing well for me and I enjoyed watching it on a weekly basis despite others viewing it with negative undertones. Still, I'm mostly looking forward to Konosuba Season 3 as I heard would premier this April, so hyped!

Added Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete to my watching list this season. Been reading the manga and it's... quite the ride.

Falling down the rabbit hole again. I hadn't really watched anime for like a year, year and half but now I've watched over 30 episodes of Ranma in the last few days (not on vacation by the way). I hadn't previously watched the series despite loving the manga (and having read it several times) because it's so long but it's great. Couple surprise notes are that the soundtrack is much better than most anime and Shampoo is much funnier in the anime than the manga for some reason.

I prefer Takashi stuff in manga form. The anime versions of her shows all have the same issue: Way too long, way too much filler.

To be honest I agree. I haven't yet got to the point where the anime caught up to the manga so filler hasn't yet been an issue, but I know it's coming. Have to see how bad it is once I reach that point.

I am going to revisit the 3 seasons of "How to Pick up girls in a Dungeon" anime, I never finished it and got confused when getting into season 2 because I wasn't paying a lot of attention. I also watched "kimi ni todoke" or "from me to you" I liked it a lot, haven't finished season 1 but so far it is an enjoyable romance anime, a breathe of fresh air when I have seen a lot of romance animes with more than 3 people falling in love with the protagonist.

I am trying to get back to watch anime more frequently

Are there many femcels/incel animes going on for this year or as of late? I need more than just Kuroki Tomoko from Watamote. I want the protagonist that fails in romance and will never succeed but finds acceptance in that fate or at least something else, rather than becoming neurotypical.

Onimai won't cut it, if the protagonist changing into a girl causes her to be a success just because she's no longer a male, especially if we never see any male form in show. If anything, it'd be more realistic for her to fail as a woman like they failed as a man. Transmaxxing is a load of baloney unless if someone can really become the new role and not have to do any approaching or real social effort in comparison to their old gendered role. Either way, they're going to be a shut in if that comes easier.

Even Sasuke Uchiha, was an example of a character that didn't have "game" despite being portrayed with extremely good looks and physical attractiveness that Naruto lacked. He could superficially get women but couldn't in a way for much of his arc/story because he was fueled by hatred/revenge or past traumas. It was good to see when he was solidly loner for so long. It was more interesting for me than him caving in or settling for Sakura. When he was incapable of love or close bonds emotionally, was when he was great for me. I want to see more such stories, but different perhaps.

Just watched the first four episodes of Gushing Over Magical Girls and now I'm caught up and already wanting a new episode to come out.

If there's a gem ecchi anime you're looking for, this is for you. Looking forward to the elf weight loss anime that is rumored to come out next season. The manga for that is great.
