But that's just a greater problem in media aimed at young adults in general. Apparently if you don't grow up with 2 heterosexual parents you're destined to be a shit parent.

Well how does that explain Sakura, who grew-up with two heterosexual parents and a normal childhood, but still ended-up being a trash parent?

Because she's trash.

So. Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei got a second season.
Which means I’m going to watch it because I know it’s going to be a dumpster fire and I want something to laugh at.

She did have one high moment during the fight against Sasori, and maybe against the final boss Kaguya- if we count that last punch she landed on her. Also in this one movie (which I don't know is canon or not), she beat up another Kunoichi. Rock Lee was fighting against another opponent as this was happening.

I have just finished Classroom of the Elite, but it was not really long enough for me to formulate an opinion - that is, not enough happened, so I suppose that means I found it rather dull. It managed to intrigue me, but only that, so without any more of it to watch, that intrigue is meaningless.

Watching the entirety of Star Blazers 2199 and 2202 has gotten me cursing the fact that an awesome flying space battleship would be out of place in my nation's military...
Also, it's not often I find a reboot of a series that is actually a lot better than the original show.

The opening animations for Daicon III and Daicon IV. Daicon IV is good especially with the music they added.

I just watched the first episode of the new series Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle / Maoujou de Oyasumi, and it is absolutely hilarious. I cannot wait to watch more of it, definitely one I will be following.

Are there any new-ish mecha shows that are worth checking out? Maybe something a bit better/more mature than Gundam Build Divers?

How new is new? The last decade hasn't exactly been great for mecha. There was Darling in the Franxx, but the mecha don't get as much of a spotlight as they do in other series, and not many people liked it except for me.

No, because for some reason most modern anime fans hate mech shows and so studios aren't even bothering anymore.

I recently finished The Irresponsible Captain Tylor as per my friend's recommendation. It was way funnier than he told me, so I was greatly pleased.

1. Keep the name in the quote, it's easier to see who you're replying to.

2. 3 reasons: A. People say that they're too slow or boring, because for some reason anything longer than 26 episodes is too much of a time commitment now, B. A lot of people are under the impression that mech shows are only about big robots hitting each other and they think that's boring, when that's entirely false, and C. Mechs take a lot of time to animate, so studios are instead focusing on CG mechs, but instead of making them look good they just throw as much random crap as possible on the robots.

God I just want RWBY volume 8 to come out already. I know the shows basically a trash fire now but boy do I love the cringey anime cheese the "writers" come up with. I say "writers" because they've gone on record saying they've never written anything made for tv before working on RWBY.
