Anyway, we're straying off topic here. Back to anime you've lasted watched, please.

I was being sarcastic.
If there's one thing in this world that I absolutely despise with all my heart and soul, it's ethno-nationalists and ethno-supremacists.

Those and Primitivists.
Yugoslavia's back baby...

How the hell did this happen?
Well...we don't actually know. Just sort of happened one day.
Is it a reunited Yugoslavia in the 21st century? Is a rebel colony world in the far future? Is it a race of cyborg neo-life at war with any assimilating organisms they come across in the far far future? Who knows, who cares?
New Yugoslavia just is.

The thread topic. This is not it. As an added bonus it comes extremely close to actionable trolling/flamebaiting. Sarcasm can be a very dangerous beast to play with in a text format.

I started watching Black Clover about 4 days ago, I'm now on ep 61. It's not as bad as people made it out to be, it's actually pretty good. And so far the filler feels very minimal. Sort of like how early naruto was essentially all plot.

It is such a shame that a show with excellent characters (finally, a superior/inferior rival pair who are not afraid to show mutual respect and friendship), good plot direction and twists, a unique aesthetic (the grimoires) and huge potential for exhilarating battles was saddled with such lacklustre animation, so that for a good chunk of the series it seems like Asta is swinging around a block of styrofoam for all the reaction his opponents show to being hit (usually a disinterested expression but with the mouth slightly open for some blood to come out).
If you can look past that, it is wonderful. The 10th opening is a contender for my favourite anime opening of all time, and the final battle of that arc was breathtaking.

I recently finished Serial Experiments Lain. One of the coolest things I've seen from this medium; it's more like strange art and philosophical concepts than a plot-driven show.

How are you watching it? I can't seem to find Lain on any streaming services, and most of the DVDs I found are either incomplete or region locked.

Lain would be quite high on my watchlist if I could watch it legally. If I can't, then I have a ton of things I could still watch legally.

I do sail the seven seas on occasion, but not without a very good reason.

I used a... third party website. I looked into it and it appears to be on the Funimation website, but with advertisements. No streaming services have it currently; if you want to watch it ad-free the only way to do so is through illegal methods.

I gave up on that show after episode 6. Neat premise, incredibly boring execution.

Out of curiosity, and because a nation on this site is based on it, I recently watched the Nekopara OVA. Wasn't into it; let's just say it was a very stereotypical anime.

Well, uh... Back on topic.

I'm starting Serial Experiments Lain. Having to watch it with ads, but I don't mind too much (and I think my adblocker might actually work on video ads, too.) From the first episode alone it's as surreal as its reputation suggests.

Hopefully it's a good show this time and not something that leads to discussion of old DOS players by mere mention of it.

I can't point at what, but there's still something about the Bookworm anime that keeps me thinking "how would this look/work if character designs were less stylized and more 'realistic'".

Once again, if you make it to the 9th episode, I'd like to think it might be right up your alley. Or at least, some themes in the show.

Well, I re-watched the Gunsmith Cats OVA...yet again. I just love it. It must be odd that one of my favorite anime shows is very Americanized. On more recent things, I really should get to watching Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul, through a cam, on a Drive repository...at least I don't have to worry about ads.
