Granbelm has got to have the worst mech designs since Darling In The Franxx. It's hard to enjoy those explosions when the robots look like stubby Medabots.

The Franxx were good designs. The writing demanded a mecha that was more expressive and human than a traditional chonky Super Robot or Gundam-style Real Robot, without excessive detail that would drive up animation cost and complexity, and that's what the design team delivered. I liked the designs enough that the only non-gunpla figure I've got is Strelitzia.

Of course it is. I'm glad to see someone else also enjoyed the film. My friends (who all read the manga, I haven't) said it was a somewhat compressed adaptation that didn't capture the full story. We all agreed the art was beautiful, though.

I do. Liked parts 1-3 more than 4 & 5 and still like the overall theme and story of Golden Wind. One of the few anime series I know of that has a large number of episodes but no quality fluctuations or fillers.
