But seriously tho, who green-lighted that.

I mean, I'm neutral towards it but... Someone should check all of these guys' basements.

well... if we're talking strictly semantics then i think this isn't orc rape since the show isn't Orc Slayer :lol2:

It is Orc Slayer though, according to the washboard.

Watched first episode of Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka and little after “story so far” and scene or two, I assumed that this would leave all action in past and would be all about Magical Girl PTSD Recovery, but I guess not because she renewed the contract already.

I’m not sure if that’s pity or not

There is a whole series on Youtube that shows how the Goblin Slayer adaptation deviated for the manga (or LN). Boy, they left a whole lot out, and changed a bunch of things, not for the better. I understand that an anime meant for TV has time restrictions, where as a manga does not. But boy, they left out a bunch of good stuff. I think the concept of how the whole world is just a dice rolling game got lost in the adaptation, and rather forced ham handedly in at the end.

The Magnificent Kotobuki was a nice surprise. The 2D characters mixed with CG characters is weird, but I forgot that during the like 15 minutes of old school dogfighting.

I agree. The whole bar scene at the start was extremely jarring. I get that it's a lot of trouble to make 3d models of what I assume will be one-off characters but at the same time just because you have a 3d model of a character does not mean you need to use it every single time the person moves in any way. That said as long as the dogfights keep holding up I can look past such issues.

I never expected to feel disappointment for start of second season for series which first season was done on "three strings and rock" budget.

I've just recently finished the endless 8 arc... now I understand why you people wanted me to watch it all at once. Those creators are major trolls!
But in all seriousness, it was quite interesting. Repetitive, but interesting. I don't know how to feel about it, but it was quite the experience. It was definitely some sick humour from the creators, which I must congratulate them on. I now understand what people mean when it is a tough pill. I will admit, it did start dragging out by the 5th part, and I did want it to end. Despite this, I did enjoy it, strangely enough (It was probably the animation, and Kyon's sister going: "Kyon, the phones ringing.")

I do, however, feel sorry for those who must've watched this arc when it first aired. Waiting for the next episode to air, seeing it air, wait again, seeing it again. I do wonder what the forums at the time were like? It must've been incredibly hectic.

Anyways, I'm off to finish the rest of the season. I'll probably watch the movie and the other series later.

It was a weird time.

It basically destroyed the fandom, and to this day there are people who are really bitter over it and despise the entire second season as a result.

I can definitely understand why.

I'm probably a bit immune to the hatred because, as others have recommended to me, I watched it all in one go, instead of watching an episode a day or two.
I still enjoyed it, to some extent.

Yeah, like you said it was a tough pill to swallow, but then again each episode is called "the Endless Eight" so we knew how long we were in for. That's okay, though, because the rest of season two is really good.

I now just got the joke. Endless 8. Flip the 8 around: ∞.
It all makes sense now.

Anyways, 8 episodes. Yeah, I guess we should of.
Endless 8 definitely hasn't ruined my experience, and I think I'll enjoy watching the rest of season 2, sometime next week.

The OP makes that joke, too, so it was certainly intentional xD

Edit: Oh wait, never mind. I just watched the op again. It's one of the signposts that Haruhi slaps.

Things you pick up on when you watch The Endless Eight enough times ;)

Yeah, I'm one of the weirdos who slugs through it every time I rewatch the series.

Tbh, I don't know how people would be able to go through re-watching all of endless 8 again.
I certainly wouldn't be in the mood to re-watch it.
