Watched the first season of Haruhi Suzumiya recently. Enjoyed it. Also watched one of the new episodes of Konosuba, and fuck yes.

Watched a bit of MaidDragon and Monster Grills.
MaidDragon reminds of of Nichijou and I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying. Meaning that it will probably be a commercial flop and be outsold by Hibeke Euphonium Season 3.
Monster Grills isn't bad, there are cute girls. I approve.

I'm currently watching two anime.

The first is Log Horizon. It's somewhat of an odd duck. It's played and structured as a piece of genre cinema, but it uses all of them. One minute it's sci-fi, then it's action, then it's political thriller, and then back again, with lashings of silly comedy throughout. It works though, and very well. In the subgenre of "Trapped in a Computer Game" this is a superior work. The strong cast of characters keeps you anchored throughout the various switches in focus, and it's good to see a series that's at home solving problems through action as diplomacy, or political manoeuvring.

The other is Toradora! I'm a sucker for doofy humour, and this has it in spades, but it's also sweet and heartfelt. It's not the most attractive animation ever, but it's filled with sheer joyful energy. It's clear from the off how it's going to end if you're in any way cineliterate, but if you're like me you won't care. In my book, that's a mark of a properly engaging series.

Somehow I was both displeased and pleased same time, when it ended Iike I figured it would end.

Finished with Patlabor now. Alcohol is what's missing from contemporary anime. That and hand drawn robots.

Good to see alcohol is not lacking in Konosuba and Maid Dragon.
