But really I don’t see a problem if it’s just multiplayer. That’s about as historically accurate as a game of civilization.

It’s history themed, but accuracy is traded for cool factor.

I don't really care either. No matter what race or sex the character is, they'll get shot and t-bagged anyways :p

Can I say that I'm disappointed in the lack of factions in this years cod mp?

The last cod I played, you had tones of factions.

Yes, I know that they where palette swaps, but at least there was some effort put into them.

What I'm trying to say is, if they wanted black female solders in this game, why not make them exclusive to the French resistance?

It would make sense. More sense then black female Nazis.

Instead, you only have two factions. That's really kinda lazy Sledgehammer.

Edit, my mistake, they have 8.

But it's homogenised into only two at appearance.

Factions kinda stopped being a thing since Advanced Warfare.

But I agree, more factions would be nice. KNIL vs Japanese Imperial Military pl0x

The fact that you couldn't tell how many factions where in the multiplayer should probably clue you in to how useless factions are if they're just minor palette swaps. CoD 3 did faction-style gameplay right, as does Verdun currently. The factions should be distinct, in more than just simple appearance.

They could have also done so much more with the game with factions. They could have given each faction there own skins to wear and lines to say.

For example:

Canadians should have had a silly unlockable hockey skin that makes a hockey siren go off every time they complete an objective.

In fact, give every faction there own silly unlockable skin.

Woman in the SAS could have had an Overwatch reference line when spawning in, "Cheers love, the cavalry's here".

There could have been the announcers for each faction and themes.

Hell, have the announcers be related to other cod protagonists. Have the SAS announcer be Captain Prices father, have the OAS in the game and let Mason's dad be the announcer. Or, Reznov for the Red army faction.

Instead:

We get homogenized to two factions essentially.

There's more that I have to say about CoD: WWII.

For the record, I do enjoy the game. It's nice to see Call of Duty taking a step back in time (as if it had choice). IMO, I don't particularly enjoy the idea of having Normandy as the tutorial setting as opposed to an event that would make the player to feel more invested. They could have chosen to start the story from closer to the beginnings the war to emit its historical implications.

For instance, the tutorial could have unfolded at the Dunkirk evacuation. Imagine that as a tutorial level, complete with wholesome engagement in the defense of Dunkirk to allow the British to retreat. Normandy just seems rather redundant in this matter.

Perhaps we even could've seen a more in-depth Battle of Kasserine Pass, a recurring theme related to Sergeant Pierson's secondary convictions that cost the lives of his men.
Peter Kropotkin wrote, “We accustom ourselves and our children to hypocrisy, to the practice of a double-faced morality. And since the brain is ill at ease among lies, we cheat ourselves with sophistry. Hypocrisy and sophistry become the second nature of the civilized man. But a society cannot live thus; it must return to truth or cease to exist.” The Conquest of Bread (1892)

To be fair, while minuscule in comparison, there were black soldiers in Nazi-Germany.

There are mods for it, and the 82nd Airborne is still a large ass group that routinely does WW2 stuff.

(I should also point out that Arma is a watered down version of the combat simulator used for the military, hence why it's modern stuff)
