anyone else playing old-school runescape?
I used to love the game back when I was in primary school. Very nostalgic now that I've discovered old school

Deadlined main quests in (semi)open world games. Contradictory or not?

Usually not, unless the game has specifically said that it always gives the freedom to do whatever at any time to the player.

I was trying to play Command and Conquer Generals Mobile Empire and Allies the other day. I like it solely because it seems that unlike most other War Commander type games (i.e wait a week to repair a unit) you can build up safely, and get more resources from invading the totally not GLA (the "GRA") bases in the world map.

Seems to be pretty much near everyone according to Metacritic, only has a few "mixed" ones listed.

The ones ive read myself are from Jim Sterling, Giant Bomb, Kotaku, Game Spot, Eurogamer and a few more i cant remember off the top of my head, i think the Guardian was one, all very positive.

Main negatives seem to be about the interface, melee combat (primarily in regards against Human Enemies it seems) and poor lip syncing in cutscenes, and that most of the dialogue wheels for side missions are mainly for lore, and dont really serve any other purpose when you get down to it. But they praise pretty much everything else from the ones ive read, especially the world of the game itself, and the combat against the Machine creatures.

Which, sure, fine, but Outlast already exists and did that shit better.

What I think made the Resident Evil games work was their narratives. They're a lot like sitcoms in that regard. Sure, their characters may not be very deep or face development, but they don't need to. They are familiar, and that makes seeing them appear in game after game a very rewarding experience. Same thing applies for the villains: Umbrella is a constant throughtout the series, directly and indirectly. For that reason, believe it or not, I really liked RE 5. It brought back all the characters I liked to participate in one big ridiculous fuck off battle against a really cool villain in Wesker, who is basically the personification of Umbrella.

Speaking of the original RE characters, I just found this.

The first CGI movie was rather meh, but I enjoyed the second one. Looking forward to this.

Also, Chris' design here leads me to believe that

the dude at the end of RE 7 isn't actually him.

For a second there, I thought you were linking me to a goddamn RE pachinko machine video.

I dunno about all you normies, but I like the CGI RE movies compared to the absolutely awful live action ones.

Even my sister, who is a big fan of the first couple for some goddamn reason (action girl porn, I guess), thought the last one was mercy-killing the franchise.

I meant something like in Star Control II: Ur-Quan Masters or Fallout 1 where mucking about too long will cause game over. :D

It really is one of the best sandbox games I've played, if it isn't the best. Almost all of Minecraft is fantastic. From the simple gameplay and graphics to the music, it's just absolutely great.
But then a bunch of people think all Minecraft is is the most annoying thing just because of the chaotic and annoying fanbase that is hardly representative of the game itself.

Games with no set end goal never really interested me.

It was about time the poor girl would feature somewhere somehow, I mean timelinewise she hasn't seen any action since...the very first game. Even Barry has a better track record. :p

The RE franchise is the master of localized zombie/viral outbreaks. The emergency never gets out of hand when Chris, Leon and Jill arrive just on time to stop it, and they always do.

It's been a while since I treated myself to a Skyrim marathon. Why the heck don't I do this more often?

Also, I'm kinda dying to play Persona 5, even though it turns out there is no same-sex romance option, 'cause it's still Persona. Still... goddamn, Atlus. Even Square Enix has more balls than you do on this sort of stuff. And what's worse, you are making EA look good by comparison, which is unforgivable. :P

And Mass Effect Andromeda is looking good so far. :3

Heard and saw the video about For Honor's Peer-to-Peer servers instead of the usual dedicated server. It fucked up the PvP greatly. Check the CrowbCat's Youtube videos...and yes, he sort of uploading too many Ubisoft-related videos.
