Resident Evil 7 really just looks and feels like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre crossed with Outlast.
Which, sure, fine, but Outlast already exists and did that shit better.
What I think made the Resident Evil games work was their narratives. They're a lot like sitcoms in that regard. Sure, their characters may not be very deep or face development, but they don't need to. They are familiar, and that makes seeing them appear in game after game a very rewarding experience. Same thing applies for the villains: Umbrella is a constant throughtout the series, directly and indirectly. For that reason, believe it or not, I really liked RE 5. It brought back all the characters I liked to participate in one big ridiculous fuck off battle against a really cool villain in Wesker, who is basically the personification of Umbrella.
Speaking of the original RE characters, I just found this.
The first CGI movie was rather meh, but I enjoyed the second one. Looking forward to this.
Also, Chris' design here leads me to believe thatthe dude at the end of RE 7 isn't actually him.

Seriously though, Minecraft gets such an undeserved hatedom for the insane 10 year old community that plagues Minecraft.
It really is one of the best sandbox games I've played, if it isn't the best. Almost all of Minecraft is fantastic. From the simple gameplay and graphics to the music, it's just absolutely great.
But then a bunch of people think all Minecraft is is the most annoying thing just because of the chaotic and annoying fanbase that is hardly representative of the game itself.

Also, goddamit, that movie is going to ruin my Rebecca Chambers fanfic I've been writing.

Also, I'm kinda dying to play Persona 5, even though it turns out there is no same-sex romance option, 'cause it's still Persona. Still... goddamn, Atlus. Even Square Enix has more balls than you do on this sort of stuff. And what's worse, you are making EA look good by comparison, which is unforgivable.
And Mass Effect Andromeda is looking good so far. :3
