Starting to have some fun in Zoo Tycoon 2 after NickNackGaming gave me some ideas. I have vanilla Endangered Animals but I am still making some stuff work, but I absolutely cannot build NickNack's buildings without his mods. Don't feel like downloading them atm.

Can't make good bridges without making it all look uglier. So close, ZT2, but you skimped out on your bridges when you made the water 3D. wtf, i want my landscaping simulator to be right and proper!

Think I'll delete a pair of pillars or two from the raised walkway, it's kill on the valley floor, too ugly. The raised walkway could use a good reform in general, it's kinda pathetic. Make it wider, put a shop or stand up there maybe.

I am building a tapir exhibit. The animals are in a steep depression (altitude-wise) and the top of the cliffs are lined with low walls. There's a ridge halfway around the depression that can give a higher view, and the back of the ridge will be the jaguar exhibit built like the tapir's, and it will be thinner, wrapping around the ridge...I'll post a map and some piktures some other day when I am done with that.

According to this game Galapagos Giant Tortoises breed like rabbits how are they endangered. Their Advanced Needs to be satisfied so I can release them back into the wild, but they keep outbreeding the exhibit space and making them all angry about it so I can't release them. Besides there's four more tortoises before the fourth one has even grown up and I can't release babies, I can only have them adopted. I threw the first male up for adoption so the baby-making would stop until the other tortoises grew up and I could release them. I'll cut it down to one female and one male. Lords almighty.

Then there's my guests always needing benches and snack stands and bathrooms.

Moon Crash DLC for Prey is fun, its not a huge environment that they have added in, but its a decent size, and the randomised aspects to it and the increase of difficulty the longer you stay in the simulation each run makes it a lot of tense fun. Especially as you have 5 different characters you can play as, with their own skills and focuses.


Also Moon Sharks can fuck off.

Also, being the charismatic character is a real bitch. I'm so used to being an invincible beeftank that I've died like 20 times by running up at low health to bash people.

yeah but speech is trash in fo4, so that doesn't really get you anywhere, and because SPECIAL is so asininely restricted (can't even make a 5-across-the-board average joe) you give up a lot of potential for something of little value

Well, I am being the nice girl (I picked the lady) this time. Granted you're kind of the good guy by default cause there's no karma system, but I'm being the helpful and nice sort this time...not as fun as my morally depraved guy who I pretty much used 'Sarcastic' with every time though.

jesus what a crapshoot choice, I hope the person who decided that introducing a mass-effect style obtuse dialogue system got fired. Distinctly remember taking that option on one of my first playthroughs to take the piss out of the stupid sci-fi memory-parlor check, but the character started spouting some cringey dr.frankenstine reference like an autismo stumbling through a bad joke.

Thankfully a NV-style dialogue menu was one of the first mods created for FO4, that plus the silent protagonist mod was sorely needed.

Anyway, I like it. Yeah, giving them a voice did kind of limit your dialogue. But there was some good stuff. I still giggle at "Will you comply?"

It does more than limit dialogue, it limits character. Though I have more of problem with the dialogue menu than the voiced protag themselves, and my use of silent protag is more out of personal preference than it being something that's a 100% improvement like the NV dialogue mod is.

I gotta say, Phantom Pain is an incredible game. The stealth gameplay is well developed and engaging, but they also give you plenty of different ways to go on guns blazing. Charging into a Soviet outpost on a bipedal mech equipped with a Gatling gun and a highly corrosive machete capable of cutting through armored vehicles while blaring Take On Me through the speakers is an experience to remember.
