To be fair, the hype machine's been dying down these last couple of years, especially after No Man's Sky's hype train was a supernova of fail.

I haven't been hearing or seeing too much of Sea of Thieves until recently, and the reception for it is mixed from where I'm standing.

People are catching onto the microtransaction bullshit and realize that they're paying more for less.

Okay. So I looked up the wiki tutorials for KSP and realised that yes, I am indeed lugging too much useless shit to make a simple orbit. By a literal factor of ten (tonnes).
But... even with the revelation that one should burn for an equal time on both sides of a manoeuvre node, I cannot get a stable, symmetrical orbit with the tutorial ship (it is worth noting that the tutorial is quite old, and references parts since renamed and parts since removed.

The closest I think I have gotten was 74km periapsis to 80km apoapsis, though I failed to actually achieve this orbit because of a mistimed burn and accidentally de-orbited. On an even less symmetrical orbit, I did manage a full suborbital-orbital-deorbital trajectory and landing, and holy shit, a de-orbital burn can need as little as two seconds of thrust to drop the periapsis from ~60k to 30k which lets you airbrake on the atmosphere and the command pod really can survive on just one heat shield and one parachute (I have been lathering my ships in drogue/main chute combinations because I've been de-orbiting at like 1km/s).

In other news, RB6 Siege went on sale again and I've somehow gotten worse since the free weekend. I've tried turning my sensitivity up, turning it down, different characters, different weapons, and rebinding my keys and I'm just phenomenally poor.
I also managed to kill myself and TK another player, by placing a nitro cell instead of wall reinforcement, and then by detonating it instead of picking it up, because WHY THE FUCK IS DETONATE (G) NEXT TO PICK UP (G)

So, I’m obsessed with FO:NV now. Thinking of going with the NCR, but I may go the solo route.

The stuttering audio I had issues with since December was caused by playing the radio during loading screens. So if you enter a building when a certified banger is playing, everything sounds like a broken record.

The only negative of going with the NCR is that Goodsprings is abandoned due to the town no longer getting any business and being unable to pay the new taxes. Being as isolated as they are, no shit. They were already being forced to fold at the start of the game because nobody passed through there unless they had to.

As much as I like House, he is an admitted autocrat with little tolerance for the individual wills of his subjects.

The Courier is unable to control the chaos in the Mojave Autonomous Zone by herself.

And the Legion is, well, the Legion, and they rape and pillage everyone. And frankly, if Caesar can be leader, the mummified fool he is, why can't I be Caesar? Lanius is somehow worse, all brawn and no brains.

Don't get me wrong, Goodsprings is a nice place with everything you could ever want in Hardcore mode (including water and food), but it's also way too isolated.
