I simply despise the controls and UI to a dizzying degree - as in, no form of tutorial or mode to get even a rudimentary understanding of different mechanics, an absolutely awful and unbearable UI that makes Paradox games look easy, where even mapping my controls is absolutely ridiculous an time-consuming, and even with the closest approximation I can get to older Gaijin games, the fact that the game jumps around/has such a high sensitivity (I often play games at around 5-10% sensitivity), and that even flying in a straight line is an absolute chore.

I have very little patience or faith in any product (I refuse to say game) in which such simple acts are so drawn out, difficult, and where just navigating a menu is so complicated.

That's about as much as I can say without breaking site rules and throwing in a handful of slurs.

I've given it several chances over the last three years, and each time I thoroughly get a sick, burning hatred for the game. Not to mention its monetization makes WoT look innocent sometimes.

What mode where you playing?

Maybe because I'm a history nut, but I find Air Arcade Battles to be an enjoyable and easily understandable experience.

Although the tutorials are truly terrible. A much bigger effort needs to be made to significantly improve the new player experience.

BFG missions that aren't either Cruiser Clash or Breakthough are flat out terrible, whilst Convoy Escort is just barely tolerable when the attacker and Assassination when defending.

I love BFG, but I've no idea what they were thinking with most of these mission ideas. Data Recovery, Assassination, Convoy Escort, Planetary Assault don't give you enough time and more often that not you feel like RNG is just fucking with you.

So, for those of you wondering what I've been doing gone for so long, besides my job, I've managed to find a group of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons enthusiasts who share my love of 2nd Edition Planescape-based adventures. For our first game, we decided to go full insanity. Our party is composed of four more or less monsters that just happen to be some variant of Good or Neutral aligned. These include: a female warrior Reef Giant (my character :D), a male wizard Genie, a female priest Faerie Dragon, a male ranger Aarakocra, and a fucking male ROGUE BEHOLDER (yes, he is a sneaky, backstabbing BEHOLDER). We basically picked this party because we told the DM to throw the most overpowered and/or obscure shit he could find at us and we would try to counter them. It was either Godhood or death, basically. And, yes, we all started at Level 1.

I'm still finding out about the other characters, so here's a little bit about my character: she is Marina of the Great Barrier Reef, a giantess a few steps into adulthood. She, like any other Reef Giant, lived happily in the Great Archipelago with her mother and father. They taught her the basics of survival in the ocean before they... Vanished without a trace one day as they went off to hunt. Knowing what is in the ocean in Dungeons & Dragons, you can probably guess why. But Marina wasn't content in leaving things to guesswork. She set out to find out why her parents disappeared when she finally reached adulthood, hitchhiking on giant sailing barges and moonlighting as a sailor. Her time in lonely isolation have shaped her personality, as she is rather quiet, but she is also kind, inquisitive, and rather oblivious to the world around her. Also, she is sixteen feet tall, so she is bound to stick out like a sore thumb wherever she goes. While the rest of the party ventures into towns, she prefers to hunt for food on the perimeter, and has been known to scare the local guard garrison while also leaving them extremely confused. "Why is a sixteen foot tall wench hunting the Lord's deer?" indeed. Her equipment is somewhat limited, as they don't carry chainmail for sixteen foot tall people. She has a big-ass trident she wrestled from a Triton, an Ogre's broadsword she uses as a dagger, a fancy club fashioned out of a palm tree trunk, and a giant bikini crafted from the sails of a galleon that is the legendary treasure all pervy thieves aspire to steal one day. I managed to cobble together a leather ensemmble from blue whale hide that gives her at least some modicum of protection. If you want a mental image, think Elena from Street Fighter except she's also sixteen feet tall. I'm gunning to see if I can find some magical clothing that is both giant-sized and offers protection. I don't have the money yet to get a giant-sized armor crafted. I need to find a dwarven stronghold for that kinda work, and we're still stuck on the shores of Al-Qadim.

Also, as a warrior, she gets a certain retinue that she can summon. Of course, my DM, being a sexist pig and not wanting us to be more OP than necessary to survive, made it so that the only reason she has a retinue is because 1.) she is a sixteen foot tall hot lady, and that's bound to bring a few diehard followers, and 2.) she is a SCANTILY CLAD sixteen foot tall hot lady, and the majority of this retinue are just there hoping to catch a glimpse of her traditional bikini getting ripped off in combat and hopefully crib a finger job from her. So, it's either be half-naked most of the time, or go without the retinue. -_-

Our monster encounters are a little more exciting than the run-of-the-mill. We usually fight aquatic creatures to due being stuck in an island archipelago until we can get enough money to rent a barge that will carry me, so we're currently fending off Aboleth attacks (one of which almost turned our beloved Faerie Dragon into a concubine, o_o), Tako insurgencies, Lizardmen pirates (I'M NOT INTO BONDAGE STOP TRYING TO TIE ME UP) and there's rumors of a military campaign by the Brethren of the Shore (the local human pirate/sailor government) against an invading Kua-Toa tribal federation.

Oh, yeah, and then there's that time we were almost killed by A FUCKING KRAKEN. So there we were, getting ferried to another island, when the DM rolls his fucking encounter dice... And he begins to fucking just sigh, giggle, and laugh, real fucking menacingly. He's never done this before, so the rest of us look at him and go "... What? What is it?" and the DM looks at us, in the eyes, one at a time, and says "I rolled a 100". For those of you that don't know, you can either just do whatever for random encounters, or you can roll dice for them, with a 1-10 being something pathetic like Sahuagins (so basically free food for my character) to 50-60 being something challenging, like an Aboleth lair or a company of 40 Kuo-Toa warriors or a sea battle with Lizardmen pirates, to the 80-100s, which are really dangerous and rare monsters like Beholders, Dragons, and Gargantuas (basically mini-Godzillas you have to coax away from villages with berry trees).

Or, in this case, a fucking Kraken. No, not a Giant Squid, because that would be too fucking easy. FYI, Krakens eat Giant Squids for breakfast, along with giant ships. Worst part, this was a legendary Kraken that very rarely menaces the islands themselves, and never ventures out of the nearby Stygian Abyssal Plain. And it's name? THE GAPING MAW, Esquire.

So, yeah, really unlucky roll. We did not win that encounter, we merely survived it by out-pacing The Gaping Maw's tentacles. Yeah, no, BTW, we didn't fight The Gaping Maw, we fought ONE OF IT'S TENTACLES. The giant battleship we were hitchhiking on lost 90% of it's crew and 50% of it's hull, and the ship sank offshore of the nearest port.

Of course, we broke the most important rule of D&D: NEVER GET ON THE FUCKING BOAT.

Same. The Lebel is my favorite infantry rifle though. I also love the Carcano Carbine.

So, replaying BF4 lately, I remember on of the most retarded game mechanics ever introduced into any game that I have ever seen: Counter-knifing. By this, I mean using a melee attack, in which [if attacked from the front] a player can press a single button and "counter" that melee by grabbing the attacker's knife from them and stabbing them with it. It's not a struggle between players, but literally a one-button insta-kill that immediately offs the player who initiated the melee attack, regardless of health.

It's...good that BF1 didn't keep this. On the other hand, the introduction of team commanders was neat.

Though really, playing BF4 reminded me why I love BF1 compared to other shooters, and why I hate modern military games: Cheap weapon attachments like target detectors/heartbeat sensors, thermal optics, overpowered vehicles like helicopters and MBT's/LAV's packing seven layers of armor and flairs, etc. I always hated all of that in modern military games, always thought they were cheap as hell. In BF1 vehicles are a lot more vulnerable, and you can't just slap a motion sensor on a rifle for easy kills.

I also find that DMR's are by far the most popular guns in BF4 because they hit like trucks and have near uncapped RoF, so you can spam fire them like crazy...I still just use them because I like semi-auto rifles...they're cool.

Also, definitive list of cheap/nooby/no-skill/broken weapon attachments in literally any shooter:
- Target Detectors/Heartbeat Sensors
- Thermal Optics
- Night Vision Scopes
- Flash hiders
- Suppressors

Most frustrating level in a first person shooter ever?

A lot of people say that Mile High Club is very difficult, but The goddamn Silo in COD 2 is also pretty brutal.

I just scared someone literally to death in Dishonored 2. Accidentally made her go into the startle animation (where they take a half-step back after suddenly detecting you) and she backed right off a rooftop. I wasn't even looking at the poor woman.

The game's stats assure me that this is Not My Fault.
