Full disclosure, I am only about halfway through the second book right now, but wow. This is one fine series. Somehow it escaped my notice until this summer but thank God I found it. The entire atmosphere of the castle and the character is magnificent. I can't think of any character I've hated and liked as much as Steerpike, or one as endearing as Dr Prunesquallor. What say you, NS?
