The State of the Most Serene Republic of Montaris herby opens this contest for the Prize for Literature
My fellow countrymen,
I thank you for your kind reception of me as the first Duchess of Montaris, and now in return I eagerly begin my duties in this capacity. One of these responsibilities, as laid out by our benevolent sovereign His Majesty King Alexander J. Montclair, is the propagation of our culture as a region.
As such His Majesty has tasked me with the creation of a competition, and with His assistance we have devised a writing contest.
The prompt shall be,
In accordance with the history of our Region, the Most Serene Republic of Montaris, create a short story of no more than 1,500 words in which you describe the creation/finding of and founding of our home by His Majesty King Alexander J. Montclair.
Bear in mind these few regulations:
I. You may include whatever characters you like and speak from any view point. However, the story itself should focus on His Majesty’s task and the region itself.
II. There will be no material of a sexual nature in these entries. Anything which contains pornographic writing as determined by the judges shall be disqualified upon reception.
III. All entries should contain a title, the name of the Author, their nation, and the piece itself.
IV. All entries should be written in English and be of a legible script and font size.
V.All entries will be viewed as equal by the Judges no matter their story.
In all other matters the choice is yours as to how your story should go. The winner shall receive the following:
I. The State Prize for Literature and Cultural distinction.
II. Address-ment in the WFE for a period of 2 weeks.
III. A ceremonial dinner with the Royal Family
IV. Country and realm wide proclamation
V. Personal proclamation
VI. Their story will be placed within the Archives to further document the culture of our people.
The judge in this competition will be myself and as such I will not be competing.
