Interesting thought I had: in my sig I have a link to my OneDrive notebook I keep my poetry and songs in. It updates pretty much as fast as I work. Thought it would be a cool interactive exhibit alongside the actual value of the poetry itself. Feel free to post any thoughts on the snippets or completed works as they develop, along with tracking their progress live from idea to final form.

I wouldn't know a first thing about English poetry, but these seem OK.

Lovely to see this thread making it's marks!

I recently returned from a trip to the Top End of Australia. I did some plein air on the run - good old paper and drawing tools. Yes I dipped my paper into the same rock pool where I was swimming, or used the cup of tea with the fly floating on top where there was no 'free' water. I found out I've been drawing and painting on the computer for too long now! So here are a few I'd like to share by way of an introduction to me:

Just wanted to pop in to remind folks that they're more than welcome to submit a link to their gallery to the pinned thread here - I do check for new submissions regularly. I know Victoriala II already had their gallery linked, but that notebook of yours Auremena, would be a great addition to the writing section, as your watercolors would to the visual art section, Devil Heart.

:)

Thanks Ever-Wandering Souls...better update my Deviant Art page.
Until then, more art here will have to do:
Portraits made for various past forum avatars

And Gigaverse I don't agree with you! Your pics are considered studies and when confident, delivered with a controlled but careless flick!

Can't argue with that, thanks for sharing!

I'm not exactly an artist, but in my free time, I guess I have sketched or doodled before.

My IC character, Surveillant Clarissa Alanis Star Breya Anna Millie Taissa Butterfly Coraline Jolijn Clementine Harumi, is my best work to date. I drew her first as a stick figure because I was bored, but I kind of like the face that I drew, and so, over the years, she got the body and everything. She became a robot, because I was planning a human first, but I couldn't draw hands.

Also, I just realised this... are her legs a little too long?

I took a picture.
City At Night
I was trying to find depictions of love and fate for a gallery, tried to stage a shot, it didn't work out like I wanted and then got in the usual motivation funk. But I got this unrelated shot instead. I quite like how it turned out, not quite the way it was in my head, but almost. That's not something that happens often in photography.

Was just speaking with a photographer friend who's painter boyfriend keeps trying to tell her that photography isn't an art. Not in a joking way either, he's totally serious :lol2:

Surveillant Clarissa Alanis Star Breya Anna Millie Taissa Butterfly Coraline Jolijn Clementine Harumi < love this name Alanis Star .

That photograph Auremena is full with those film noir atmospherics.

Lush paint paintings The Vinlandian Islands - sometimes funny too.
They are painted digitally - yes?
Loved that one of the end of the bed in the room.

Oh yeah, I forgot that I changed the drawing a little (and thus the broken link). Whoops, my bad! Here's the latest one!

I could see a cartoon or comic in this style. It's simple enough to draw, but has enough detail to give thorough articulation and expression. Might I suggest a knee joint akin to your elbow joint?

The original (the one I deleted) had a knee joint somewhere below the skirt. It was only a few days ago I realised how hideously long her legs are. I think I will need to cut down the legs, but I took the lazy approach by pretending that the joints are under the skirt. I actually thought of something smaller, maybe a Telegram sticker pack, but at the moment, College / Uni has been taxing, so, gotta squeeze it in between the free times!

And overall, thanks for the feedback! :D

To make it worse, the whole drawing was done on OneNote (with Surface 3), with the face created first, then the body. Now it's vectorised into Adobe Illustrator format. Not exactly the best combo there. All of this was before I found out about Krita.

I quite like it as well. Especially superimposed over the photo background. Just the right amount of silliness and absurdity that way, imo.
Very striking style. I like it quite a lot.

I do a little photography (well, I try to but I don't have an actual camera, just a smartphone).

And a little drawing.

But I can't say I have much artistic talent.

I like to write poetry and works of fiction.

I don't know if I'm "good" or not, and I'd love to get some feedback on what I'm writing.

I just set up a blog. You can find me at writingdump.com
(Note: not all of my stuff is published)

Personally, I hate what I write. Just tell me what you think.

I hate what I write too! But I think something good came out this week; link is in sight. It's the one all the way to the right; the winter chills the bone or something it starts.
And you have some good content imo. I like A Plan, The Professor, and Thoughts. I ready relate with them.

Sorry peeps, I've been busy with life and off the NS forums lately so haven't found the time to respond to everyone yet. I can't possibly respond to each post personally like I used to anymore, so sorry about that too. :( Thing is, whatever artistic work it is that you're doing, keep it going - especially if you want to make some kind of career out of it in the future. And remember to not only (try to?) practice a lot, but practice consciously (i.e. know what you're doing, do comparisons with works you like and analyze them, adopt elements to make them your own, etc etc).

I'm no teacher, but I hope these hints can prove helpful to you all. Stay well, and always aim to be the best at what you do! Giga out for another half of a year.
